Tears Streaming Down!

I didn't think it would mean sooo much, but it did... I guess I was more wounded and scarred than I've wanted to accept... When I came home to Stockholm today after almost three weeks of preaching in the US then... I'm looking through my mail, being updated by coworkers, checking my email, facebook and voice mail... I'm in a postive state of chock... Happiness... Amazement... Thank you Jesus! What's happened Johannes? Well... Listen and be amazed!

Swedish favor! Swedish love! Swedish encouragement! I had almost stopped believing that this existed... I was about to become Norwegian, Finnish or American these last years...

The Amritzer family experienced and enjoyed a huge favor and "go" for the Evangelist and Teacher mission in Sweden during the years 1991-2002... Yes, there really was no limit - thank you Jesus for wonderful years! 2003-2008 were tough, lonely and isolated years where we almost exclusively worked abroad... Mission SOS has quaddruppled the last seven years, but oh what we've missed Sweden and all our "friends" that became so quiet... Articles, Tv shows, Swedish National Radio, Christian newspapers, cyber gossip and general slander... Missconceptions, intrigues and feathers that have grown into large, ugly turkeys! Imaginary ghosts and perhaps even real ghosts (in Mission SOS we like to call them demons, giggle...) The battle has at times been close to unbareable. Maria and I have continued to proclaim healing, unreached peoples mission, church planting and Apostolic Christianity and leadership! We have taken one to many bullets, cried and screamed... Many churches have been planted around the globe in the places where we have or have had mission bases! 120 full, or part time missionaries have been out on the field, some for just 6 months and others for up to 5 years... Around 50 festivals of different size have been conducted among unreached peoples... Books and booklets have been written and translated into soo many languages! Bible schools have been established in Sweden, India, Bulgaria, the US and soon both in Thailand and Ethiopia as well, hallelujah!

Thank you Sweden for all the letters, emails, and messages that we have received the last couple of weeks from you that have been saved, baptized in the Holy Spirit, and healed during our services... God heals me today... Tears! Generous, without prestige, and joyful cheers from all over Sweden! Thank you all alumni students, missionaries and team members for all your nice words! Thank you to all you churches in Sweden that have called us to come and preach! At present we are booked abroad and need to keep our promises, but of course we will also prioritize Sweden as well in time... Give us some leeway and contact us with good margin and then we will love to come... Continue to write, send text messages and call - we were ans are so happy!

Some time back someone said to me: "Johannes, all you do is seek confirmation"... I smiled for myself in my solitude and laughed a little. No my friend... had it been populatity I sought then I would have tried to be more church politically correct, tried not to stick out, and to have said just enough... That is just not me and never will be... I have now preached for 18 years and I love my vision, style and direction... But yes, it is soothing and healing with confirmation from people as well, now and then every 8 years or so... ;) Thank you! Ahhh, Sweden is still all good... I smile and giggle at my own childishness but am grateful that it remains... "You old, You free, You Mountian high North.. (Swedish national anthem)." Giggle again...

Love you! See Ya!

On our Way Home to Sweden...

After a fantastic time in the US we are flying home to Sweden tomorrow. I'm hoping to meet a lot of people from SOS Church Stockholm at the b-b-q at Samuel and Julia Willkander's house in Märsta on Wednesday - it will be sooo fun! I'm longing to hug you all and eat alot of grilled meat! We'll give a little travelling report as well;).

Tomorrow I'm meeting a pastor early to work out and have breakfast. After that we'll return the rental car and get to the airport. On the flight I'm planning to read a newly bought novel of my favorite author, Heinz G Konsalik from Germany...

See you soon Stockholm!

Early Morning in Detroit...

I'm sitting in my gym clothes in front of the computer... I was supposed to work out at the Hotel gym before breakfast and thought that I would just glide by the business center and check my e-mail and the SOS people's blogs and I was stuck... I'll have to work out tonight before I go to bed instead:).

Last night I had a service with four churches here in Detroit - what a priviledge! So mature and prestige less pastors that only want to reach their city with the gospel! I'm enjoying the sweet after-taste of hanging out with them... Maria had bought a little dress for Pastor Brad and Leah's little newborn daughter - today we'll see the little threasure - wonderful!

Listening to good music in my Ipod, enjoying the presence of the Holy Spirit... Pondering a little... Soon gonna open my Bible again... Reading the Book of Acts right now... Thinking like this... What is Christianity really? What defines the Christian faith? Ok?

1) Jesus. The gospel stories and descriptions of the Son and His disciples...

2) The Book of Acts - the Christian history book. The first Christians and the first Christian church...

3) Maybe even the absolute first church history, that is, the first 400 years or so...

What did Jesus do according to the gospels? What did the first disciples do according to the Book of Acts?

Jesus:

1) Preached the Kingdom of God.
2) Drove out demons.
3) Healed the sick.
4) Trained and taught disciples.
5) Walked on water, calmed storms, multiplied food, raised the dead and did different sign-miracles...

The first Christians:

1) Meet angels.
2) Received the fire of the Spirit, its presence and spoke in tongues.

3) Baptized new believers in water.
4) Healed the sick.
5) Prayed.
6) Were in prison.
7) Were stoned and persecuted.
8) Casted out demons.
9) Conveyed the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
10) Were pulled up and moved to other places.
11) Meet Jesus in revelations.
12) Saw visions and received visions.
13) Started house churches.
14) Ordained new leaders - deligated - multiplied themselves.
15) Travelled a lot and lived in "gripsack."
16) Were accused and slandered for all sorts of stuff.
17) Suffered trials.
18) Meet new cultures, people groups and were constantly experiencing new adventures...

I Think I'll end the list there... This is Christianity! I want to be a disciple of Jesus! Love this life... Is reaching for sign-miracles and want to have more faith and and think bigger!

Coffee and the Bible is waiting now and another exciting day with the Holy Spirit...

See ya!

Final Numbers!

Maria, the kids and I are travelling to Detroit MI today for the last speaking engagement here in the US this time. We've had great weeks and are enjoying everything that this nation has to offer... I received an e-mail the other day with the final numbers of what happened during Harvest Cry in Gettysburg. Gerry, the Lead Pastor of the church hosting the event, Freedom Valley, says:

Okay, here are the final numbers as I received them this morning at Staff meeting. For Harvest Cry 2009, we recorded 65 Healings 18 Deliverances 43 Holy Spirit Baptisms , 163 Salvations. Our week culminated in 78 Water Baptisms Sunday night.

Maria and I are rejoicing, what a God we have! What a privilege to serve and love Him!

Characteristics of an Apostle

This summer I am studying leadership, in preparation for our launch of SOS Church in Stockholm on August 29th... I love church plants and have been fully occupied with pioneer work among unreached peoples the last 12 years of my 18 in ministry as evangelist and Bible teacher... It will be a true joy to be apostolic in our Swedish capital this fall...

The Aussie David Cartledge is one of my favorites when it comes to leadership teaching and in his book The Apostolic Revolution he lists 12 Biblical characteristics of a true apostle. Here they come:

1.
Signs, wonders and miracles. 2 Cor 12:12

2. Plants churches. 1 Cor 9:1

3. Humility. 1 Cor 4:9

4. Confirmation through other apostles. Gal 2:9

5. Sacrifices (serves others). Phil 2:17

6. Suffering and persecution. 2 Cor 4:8-11

7. Angelic visitations. Acts 27:23

8. Jesus revelations. Acts 9:3-6, 1 Cor 9:1

9. Authority. 2 Cor 10:8

10. Confirms, sets in place and commissions other five fold ministers. Ats 14:23, Tit 1:5

11. Oversight and discernment. 1 Cor 5:5

12. Corrects. Acts 13:9-12

See ya soon again!

Different Combination of Gifts...

All my friends here in the US are church planters, pioneers, and wild conquering charismatic Christians... We are apostolic, that is, we believe in the early church according to the Book of Acts being as strong and powerful today as then... We emphasize the roll and office of the five fold ministry gifts in practical church building. Today I am preparing a leadership teaching... Here are some thoughts from my own private Bible study, dig in...

According to chapter four in Paul's letter to the Ephesians we typically talk about five different leader gifts or ministry gifts, ie Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher... The ministry gifts are there from birth and later confirmed (through fruit) but also ordained before God and people. The ministry gifts are leaders that build up, edify the church and make the disciples more effective in their tasks and callings... OK... Still it seems like there are combinations, some one is an apostolic Evangelist, another is evangelistic Apostle, and others carry several leadership gifts in fantastic and wonderful combinations, all for the expansion of God's Kingdom...

The Apostle Paul...

- Paul was Evangelist, Apostle, and Teacher (2 Tim 1:11)

- Peter was Pastor and Apostle (Joh 21:15-17, 1 Pet 5:11)

- Timothy was Evangelist, and Apostle (2 Tim 4:5)

- Barnabas was most likely Prophet, Teacher and Apostle (Acts 13:1)

We have to prepare the next generation for an apostolic revolution where the five fold ministry gifts conquer nations and unreached peoples with the Gospel of Jesus!

A visit to the Dentist, Picnic and Detroit...

Today I had a dentist appointment for the first time in 17 years and I did not have one single cavity... Only an old “tooth reparation” that was broken... So it seems as if the missionary life is not that bad after all :)...

Yesterday Maria, the kids and I joined the Allens for a picnic. We had a bar-b-q, threw some frisbee, American football, checked out who could swing the highest and flew a kite... Cullen and Shelley are such wonderful people and great to hang out with!

Detroit...

We are preparing to drive up to Detroit this weekend for some more preaching engagements. Pastor Brad Leach, whom we will be visiting has just become a dad, they just had a baby girl. Congratulations to your little treasure, Brad and Leah!!

I am longing so for my little church plant in Stockholm and all the wonderful people there... You will join us for our church proclamation on August 29th at Nalen, won't you? The day after we will host a release concert for SOS Church first music production. It will be awesome! Hope to see you there!

Pray with me for Iran!

If you have followed the news lately you know that there have been huge and violent demonstrations on the streets of Teheran, the capital of Iran after the election. Many are victims of this violence...

It's time to pray for Iran now! Hopefully the regime will fall soon and the nation will be opened up to the gospel. Pray with me for Iran! This people that have been oppressed way to long need to hear Jesus' delivering message of forgiveness, love and life!

Miracles, Meeting Good Friends and Country Music...

Sitting in the car with my entire family on our way from Gettysburg to Pittsburgh. The summer has finally arrived in Pennsylvania and it's really warm now! We started early, stopped on the way and had breakfast at Waffle House. The kids had waffles and are enjoying summer vacation and day off with daddy...

Harvest Cry in Gettysburg exeded our expectations by far. I don't have all the details yet, but according to the follow up cards that have been counted so far, here is a brief summary. Even though I believe that far more happened that isn't still reported. Hold on...

  • 148 people saved! (First timers and people in need of salvation confirmation).
  • About 55 people have so far reported that they've been healed!
  • 12 have been delivered from evil spirits!
  • 35 have reported to have been baptized in the Holy Spirit and started to speak in tongues for the first time!
  • We baptized amazing 78 people after the last service!

Great victories for the kingdom of God!

We've sold a lot of books, SOS USA sells a lot of my books and people are signing up for MCM Ministry School in Pittsburgh! If you live in the US, check this out!!!

We are looking forward to a few wonderful days off in Pittsburgh before we leave for Detroit to preach there next weekend. This afternoon we're meeting Jeff and Melodie Leake.

We are enjoying the summer heat in the rental car, country music playing at a high volume. The US from its best side! As a European I'm amazed at what actually plays at the huge radio channels in the States and how much room that the gospel gets... Listen and enjoy!

Last Day of Harvest Cry...

People have been saved every night at Harvest Cry!!!

Jesus continued to do miracles last night in Gettysburg as well... It was Family Fest here at Harvest Cry and another 50 people gave their lives to Jesus! We prayed with about 35 people to baptism in the Holy Spirit that started to speak in tongues for the first time and Jesus healed an eye that was almost blind!

This morning I preached at Harvest Chapel, one of the churches that is arranging Harvest Cry. They had an amazing Pastor! Tonight we are baptising after the service - it will be great!

Another Miracle Night in Gettysburg!

Last night was incredible! Jesus opened an almost deaf ear, the hearing improved alot, and a demon came out of a woman! The same night a person that had trouble breathing was completely healed and about 30 people ran to the front on the salvation invitation... Jesus is sooo wonderful!

I've had leadership sessions for wonderful leaders and pastors now in the morning and now we are re-charging for a "Holy Ghost blowout" evening! I believe many will be saved and baptized in Holy Spirit...

Gettysburg is an exciting city. This is where the American civil war turned in favor of the Yankees in the beginning of July 1863. The city is filled with tens of thousands of tourists every summer...

Julie and Gerry Stoltzfoos

Maria, the kids and I are together with the Lead Pastor couple of the church (Freedom Valley Worship Center) hosting Harvest Cry, Gerry and Julie Stoltzfoos and we are so impressed by them! Gerry and Julie are serving God as an entire family, all their four kids are serving the Lord, it's so great to see! The people in the church here are so Jesus-like, Maria and I are in love with Gerry's church...

We continue tonight, it's great to live and it's great to serve Jesus!

70 Saved in Gettysburg!

"The Battle of Gettysburg" set this city on the US map...

Harvest Cry in Gettysburg started magnificent! Wednesday night that was thought to be an inspirational night for all the workers at Harvest Cry, and I actually preached an encouraging message for Christians ended with 20 people giving their lives to Jesus! I understood that many had invited their unsaved friends and when I threw out the net at the end 20 fish jiggered in it...

Yesterday was our first night for non believers and about 50 responded to the salvation invitation! Many were delivered from suicidal thoughts and eating dissorders. In a couple of minutes I'll teach leadership and we believe God for a powerful continuation of the week.

I'll post pics from Harvest Cry soon...

Harvest Cry and a Second Year for SOS Mission Bible College...

Last night was the first night of Harvest Cry here in Gettysburg, PA and we had an inspirational kick off service for all the workers during the festival. But people had invited their friends and relatives that normally don't go to church and we prayed with 20 to salvation!

Tonight we will continue... It will be exciting to see what Jesus will do. By the way, you haven't missed that SOS Mission Bible College opens up for a second year this fall? My co-worker Daniel Elvelyck, who is both Associate Pastor at SOS Church and Principal for the college writes on his blog:

Today I sent out a letter to all who have shown interest in a second year for SOS Mission Bible College. The application process is in place and you can apply! Perhaps one of my blog readers will apply?

The whole idea w
ith the second year is to form a creative and practical leadership education. Compared to the first year, built almost entirely on lectures, this second year will more be based on group studies, conversational teaching, practical exercise and personal coaching.

Our goal is to create an atmosphere where leaders are polished and trained. The demands are raised compared to the first year, but there is a greater level of freedom. The courses will be honed in on practical church building, church planting and of course unreached peoples mission, and also after a this second year you will be ready to meet the daily life of a spiritual leader, and you will be more effectively lead by the Spirit.

As mentioned, this will be a practical education,
and we will go on several field trips. We will converse on the daily tasks of a pastor, practical evangelization and have international practice as well.

The international practice trip is planned for a month and you will have several choices to choose from. Perhaps you will choose to spend a month at one of the SOS mission bases. Perhaps we will send you to work in the preparation phase of a festival, or in the follow-up work, or perhaps you will travel to an unreached area on the map and with your own eyes study and write an updated research paper? What ever your choice, it will be the adventure of your life... Do you want to take a sneak peak at the curriculum? Hold on, here it comes!

Back to the Holy Land this Fall...

At the end of October Göran Duveskog, Daniel Viklund and I are travelling to Israel again with a group from Sweden.I've had the priviledge to be the Evangelist and tour guide on these trips that Duveskog's Travel Agency arranges the last years, and I must say that this is a hight light of the year!

To come to Israel and be at the same places that Jesus was and lived is special... I love Israel and can never have enough of this country. These are great trips... Why don't you come along with us to the Holy Land this fall? E-mail info@duvres.nu for more information!

The Press Bench...

I have just been at my friend Lucas Gonzales' sweaty basement gym. He is very well trained and has coached me while I have been here in Youngstown, Ohio... The day before yesterday I worked breast, triceps, and biceps and this evening back, shoulders, and stomach...

I love the press bench. Actually our whole life is like a press bench... Muscles are formed under pressure and resistance and our stamina increases leading to stronger breakthroughs for spirit, soul and body. Thank you God for the press bench of life! I like to think that way when I am slandered, accused and blamed for all kinds of things, both the possible and the impossible. I try to think that this benefits me in the long run when people talk behind my back and hurt me. It is like aches from excessive exercise – you withstand, press on, focus and continue on. Thank you God for the press bench and a cold glass of water! Thank you God for fasting, prayer and the life of a missionary!

On Wednesday Harvest Cry starts in Gettysburg with close to 15 churches involved in a unique partnership for people's salvation. We need to keep focus. Maria, the kids and I are believing God for deliverances, transformed lives, powerful baptisms in the Spirit and many healing miracles! Thank you Jesus for breakthroughs! Thank you Jesus for the press bench!

PS: Why don't you join Göran Duveskog, Daniel Viklund and myself to Israel this fall? E-mail info@duvres.nu for more information!

From Youngstown to Gettysburg...

It's been a great weekend at VCC, I preached two services there yesterday and about 40 people were saved. We've sold 200 books this weekend, so fun that my books are selling so well here! I was at New Life Church, Poland and spoke last night at Pastor Juan and Diedre and another ten were saved but it was more than anything a very prophetic night...

This morning I had breakfast at 7 AM with a jeweler, Bill, and a carpenter, Jeff, from the church here. Now we are out on a little ranch and my kids are horse back riding... I'm soon heading out to pick up a rental car and tomorrow we are leaving for the next stop; Harvest Cry in Gettysburg!

Bar-B-Q at the Thomases

Yesterday I preached at Victory Christian Center in Youngstown, Ohio... A lot of people any many were saved! Do not have any numbers yet... I am selling a lot of books here! Please check out the books that have been translated in to English so far... and order them online!

Today I have had time for a boat ride and some fishing with the kids and soon it is time to fire up the grills - bar-b-q tonight! A summer without a lot of grilled meat is no summer at all! Tomorrow I will preach in three services. It will be intense but I can not wait! I love to lead people up to a loving heavenly father. I love to paint Jesus to hungry people!

View from the Thomases lakehouse...

Alicia and Adam are enjoying the start of their summer vacation here in the US! They have emptied their piggy banks before they left Stockholm and have $50 to just spend on ice cream and goodies this summer... Their joy is complete and daddy say; "that's what you can do when you have saved your own money..." Lol... I hear that I sound like an old man, but it's ok and I'm actually enjoying it too...:) Alicia will actually earn an extra $20 this summer for helping daddy wash and clean the car at home... She's keeping count and reminds me - you can be sure of that... Alicia will be ten September 12th and Adam eight September 6th... The best kids in the world!

Leadership Coaching A´la Joyce Meyer

I held a Bible studie for my leaders in Sweden before I flew to the US, a compilation from one of Joyce Meyer's latest books... Thought I would share this with all you blog readers as well... The SOS leaders received 10 simple advises from Joyce on Wednesday evening, here we go:

1) Do one thing at a time. Heb 12:2

2) Be content with what you have. Heb 13:5, Phil 4:11

3) Let go of the past. Is 43:18, Phil 3:13, Gen 13:14-15

4) Learn to say no. James 5:12

5) Be yourself. Gal 6:4

6) Be quick to forgive. Matt 6:14, James 1:20

7) Don't think too much. Prov 3:5

8) Be around simple people. Prov 22:24

9) Organize. Prov 31:27

10) Have good time frames. 1 Chron 23:25

Next time we meet I'll try to coach leadership from Brian Houston's teaching... This will be in August, but I'm studying leadership litterature hard this summer since my dear SOS Pastors and leaders only deserve the best... I don't have to invent the wheel again, right?! There is so much great teaching on leadership in the global Christian church, and not only my book; Musician Warrior King ;). It's good to have some self distance and be able to laugh a lot at yourself when you're a pioneer, after all, you do most things for the first time...

This summer I've preached 18 years full time, but I still feel as hungry and excited about the future and life as a school boy does...

Summer Tour and Israel

Yesterday, after the kids last day of school our family started an intense summer tour. We start in Ohio, USA, with close and wonderful friends; the David and Kathie Thomas family... We're staying at their Lakehouse - a wonderful place right by the lake - so beautiful and peaceful... Victory Christian Center is a greaty church with more than 3000 strong members, but they have, at the same time succeeded to create an atmosphere that breathes closeness, love and warmth. The summer will be incredible and we'll continue on to Norway, Finland, Bulgaria and Austria...

Hey?! Why don't you and your family, relatives or a friend join me, Göran Duveskog and Daniel Viklund on a trip to Israel October 29th - November 7th this fall?! We've had unforgettable pilgrimage trips to Israel the last years... The Bible really starts to live in your life when you are in Isreal.

Planning meeting and Tanzania!

I just had breakfast at Arlanda Airport enjoying a Metro newspaper that I picked up on the commuter train... The Brie and salami hoagie tates exceptional. Last night we had a great planning meeting for this fall. Both the pastor team and the staff team met at our house, the last ones to leave, Gustafssons, left at 0145am :) Great leaders and our best friends!

I will give you on going reports here on my blog from my intensive itinerate summer, traveling from one campaign to the next conference. It all begins with three weeks in the US... After that I will be visiting Norway, Finland, Bulgaria, and Austria as well. Everything is about bringing as many people with me to heaven as possible and to engage more in the Great Commission!
Now I am praying for Tanzania... Helo me to pray for these peoples... They need to hear the life changing Gospel of Jesus!

Conversations at the Coffee Table...

The work continued at our new premises on Kungsholmen tonight again... Self pressure! Great! Had a chance to hear the wild, crazy, and creative ideas that our design team was working with... All their thoughts and themes evolve around unreached peoples vision and international mega city church... Our design team blew away my square room mind and my brain was sprayed and mixed together with spackel on the walls... glory, glory, hallelujah! Photo wall paper with festival images, graphitti with the Stockholm skyline, projector screens, cool colored walls and unusual furniture...

The conversations around the coffee table tonight were about Bruce Springsteen's concerts at Stockholm Stadium and The Pirate party's amazing 7.1% towards the European parlament... The Pirate party - what a phenomena and what up comers! Only two things on their agenda: 1) limit copyright and protect private life and 2) abolish the patents... A voice for the young Swedish freedom pathos! Exciting!Other than that there was a lot of monkey business and giggling - just like it should be when good friends meet after work and try to get some work done :).

Day off - Gröna Lund!

Yesterday was my day off and our kids granddad, Magnus, treated the entire family with a trip to "Gröna Lund" (amusement park in Stockholm)! Sooo generous, thank you Magnus! Alicia and mom tried out the new ride "Insane", daddy, graddad didn't dare to and Adam was too short...

Today I'm working as usual, but still enjoying yesterday's sweetness!

A Wonderful Weekend in Stockholm...

My father in law came up and stayed with us this weekend and we have spoken about people from both Maria's and my childhood that I had forgotten existed... Great fun and different topics than usual. This past Saturday, my friend Omid and I strolled around Lidingö and had a cup of coffee at a very cozy café in the woods, there was a wedding feast in the other end of the café and the early Swedish summer was so green and beautiful... We got lost in deep conversations on prayer, the Law of the Spirit of Life, fatalism/belief in destiny versus Bible faith and much more. Omid is a smart guy as well as a hungry and curious new disciple of Jesus... His faith is growing like crazy and now the answers to prayer along with the desires before God are beginning to rain over his head in a fast pace. We both agree that the God of the Bible is so loving, forgiving, and good!

On our way home we met a large buck, only 75 feet away. I visualized how I shot it and talked about the perfect shot hitting the area where the neck transitions into the body and Omid reacted as the artist and aestetic he is with disgust and peculiar question; Is he not beautiful to watch alive?! Laughter, culture clash when the hunter and the aestetic go for a stroll togeteher in the woods (among other things Omid teaches dance at the Balett Academy in Stockholm:)).

Yesterday, (Sunday) on the commuter train towards down town Stockholm I found myself in a cultural mixture. I sat with two Ethiopians, three Lebanese and a Syrian and they were all talking religion in vivid broken English – what fun! The conversation in short: Hizbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, terror, the Middle East conflict, hatred meets hatred and then also love, forgiveness and finally Jesus... Great! I love Stockholm, and this city is wide open and so hungry for God...

Downtown I met a couple for marriage counseling. We met at a café and then went to SOS Church together to our "restaurant-service" in Vasastan. It was a great session with the couple – VICTORY – for the marriage and the service at Mai Thai was so wonderful! Many new faces. Both seekers and newly saved people showed up. Pastor Emma Gustafsson was host, Pastor Daniel Elvelyck led the first funeral oration (for SOS Church) where we honored the memory of young Victoria, who recently went home to Jesus! Linnea Hagenfors sang – I love it! I preached short and several were saved!

After the service Maria, the kids and my father in law went straight home in the car, while Omid and I took an evening stoll along Strandvägen looking at all the boats... I was treated with ice cream and coffee... The subway and then the commuter train home – another conversation – Stockholm – I love you!

See Ya!

Simple Life Style...

Jesus said to his disciples: Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts; take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep. Matt 10:9-10

The Apostle Paul said: But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 1 Tim 6:8

James (the Lord's brother) said: Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. James 5:3

I always loved a simple life style, it simply works best, both on the mission field and home in Stockholm. No one becomes happier if they drive the latest model car or shower in a bathroom renovated for $10,000 or cook in a kitchen made over for $7,000... Quality of life isn't neccesarily measured by the brand clothes in the closet, the latest cell phone or lap top on the market. You're not letting yourself be chased by the hipp and cool ghost of the western world that says that you have to have the latest hair do or spring shoes are you? Relax. Enjoy the little things and moments that every day life offers instead.

Jesus said: Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Matt 6:25b

A couple of days ago I picked up my son Adam after school and we sat on a park bench in Tullinge Center and had an ice cream in the sunshine... We were happy. We were content. Not even the parking ticket of $50 on the wind shield could steal our simle joy when we went home. Expensive ice cream - $55... :) God is good anyhow! My boy Adam and I owned the world!

-It's cool dad, Adam said in the car on our way home... Adam is soon eight years old and he's right - smart guy actually... Daddy will pay he thinks, and I think the same thing... My dad (God) will pay, he helps and fixes things when I've schrewed up... It's cool...

See ya!

Poem about My Friend...

My Friend

You said that you'd always be there and you understood me... You said that you read me like an open book and knew my heart. We used to talk without words. Just a look or feeling and we knew exactly where we had each other.

We laughted and the sun was shining. The fishing boat, the bloody jackfish, barefoot, the coffee thermos... The backpack for hunting, the dirty car and the shot gun pellets in the pocket... You slept with open mouth beside me in the car. You snored. We giggled like little girls even though grown up with stubbly beard. Our raw, boyish gallows humor was in bulls eye all the time, the jargon, choice of words and person chemistry was so tight, everything just coincided... We had the same background. Loved God, but had a hard time with religion. Were fascinated by Jesus, but couldn't always understand His disciples. Tears always streamed down our faces during worship and we were secure by being wulnerable in each other's company. We shared life and I thought we always would...

Suddenly. We are strangers. Misunderstands everything. Reads everything wrong. We still speak without words, but every look hurts. Rumors that you spread hurt. Is it true? I don't know what to believe anymore... We are crying on both sides and it's raining. The fishing boat is upside down, pulled up on the shore. The blood from the jackfish has dried and it smells. The feet are bleeding, the coffee is cold and leave black stains... Cold religion. Empty, echoing, humid stone church. I'm afraid of you - you of me.

Who has bewitched you? Who has sown fear into your heart? Who has stolen you from me? I'm still here. I'm crying. I miss you. You said you'd always be there and that you understood me. Why don't you call? Why don't you write? I don't know what went wrong... How did it happen? How did it it turn out this way?

Maybe I wasn't sufficient. Didn't have the strength to be what you wanted or wished for me to be. You felt like I betrayed you, but I had to follow my heart, or die. Do you understand me? Maybe, or maybe never...

Nothing has really changed. If you want to, let's forget everything?! If you want to, I want to be your friend again?! My hand is streached out. Why don't you take it? Pride? Injured? Hurt? Sorry. Sorry. Once again, sorry. Doesn't seem to help. Imagine if everything could be like it was. Just for a few minutes.

My friend.

Construction going on...

I landed at Arlanda International Airport today at 10.30 AM after a great weekend in the US... About 200 saved, 40 baptized in the Holy Spirit and many healed - hallelujah! I came home, slept an hour and then drove my Maria to her new job in Tumba (I had to drive there twice since she forgot her "crocs" and didn't want to work in high heels). Then the kids and I went to our little "church construction site" at Kungsholmen. Ohh what fun! Alicia cleaned out an old refrigerator that the workers will use during the summer and later this fall it will be great for staff and Bible school students. Alicia probably spayed an entire bottle of Mr Muscle in the fridge, and it became very clean.... My little Adam spackled and I tried to tear down old wires in the ceiling... What a great gang that was there, six people while we working and ten when it was time for fika :) (coffee break). Four other SOS people came around 8 PM with office furniture and material from Harvest Center in Arlandastad...

Tommy Hamrén is a great team leader - Tommy, we would never be able to do this without you! Fika time at 9 PM while working is always a hightlight... Fellowship, fellowship and fellowship. We're not just building a new church, but true fellowship and friendship. We get to know each other while we're painting, glazing and putting up walls to the offices and restrooms - we are building church. I love it! On our way home Alicia said; "Dad, imagine that we get to build our own church now! I feel like a missionary!"

See ya!

New York City Next...

I am looking back at this weekend in Lakewood, NJ summarizing what's happened, and more than 200 people have run to front at the salvation invitations at the four services, isn't that great?! About 40 people have been baptized in the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues for the first time, and many are testifying of healing miracles in their bodies, wonderful, isn't it? There is nothing like the gospel of Jesus, the living Son of God!

It's been so great to get to know Jeff Deyo and his band and work together with them three sevices - such humble men of God, and what a servant's attitude! Jeff and his band will soon visit us at SOS Church Stockholm! God is good!

New Jersey is a dormitory suburb to New York City known for its high population of Jews. 65,000 orthodox Jews live just next door to the church... NJ have a lot of medicine industries and tomato and vegetable farms. NJ is beautiful with pine trees, lakes and the beach not far away... Living costs are expensive just like home in Stockholm and taxes are very high to be in the US. Otherwise NJ is known for the Italian Mafia (you've seen the God Father movies haven't you?!) and a lot of Gypsies from Romania! Need I say that I love NJ?! It's multiethnic with African Americans, Hispanics, Jews, Italians and Gypsies - I feel right at home here! I love the multicultural society and as you may know, is dreaming of building a a big international church in Stockholm - there was lots of inpiration for that here!

I'm soon going in to New York City with Lance and Rachel... Maybe I'll have time to buy a pair of jeans or shoes at a shopping mall as well before my plane takes off for Stockholm this afternoon!

See ya!
