Harvest Cry and a Second Year for SOS Mission Bible College...

Last night was the first night of Harvest Cry here in Gettysburg, PA and we had an inspirational kick off service for all the workers during the festival. But people had invited their friends and relatives that normally don't go to church and we prayed with 20 to salvation!

Tonight we will continue... It will be exciting to see what Jesus will do. By the way, you haven't missed that SOS Mission Bible College opens up for a second year this fall? My co-worker Daniel Elvelyck, who is both Associate Pastor at SOS Church and Principal for the college writes on his blog:

Today I sent out a letter to all who have shown interest in a second year for SOS Mission Bible College. The application process is in place and you can apply! Perhaps one of my blog readers will apply?

The whole idea w
ith the second year is to form a creative and practical leadership education. Compared to the first year, built almost entirely on lectures, this second year will more be based on group studies, conversational teaching, practical exercise and personal coaching.

Our goal is to create an atmosphere where leaders are polished and trained. The demands are raised compared to the first year, but there is a greater level of freedom. The courses will be honed in on practical church building, church planting and of course unreached peoples mission, and also after a this second year you will be ready to meet the daily life of a spiritual leader, and you will be more effectively lead by the Spirit.

As mentioned, this will be a practical education,
and we will go on several field trips. We will converse on the daily tasks of a pastor, practical evangelization and have international practice as well.

The international practice trip is planned for a month and you will have several choices to choose from. Perhaps you will choose to spend a month at one of the SOS mission bases. Perhaps we will send you to work in the preparation phase of a festival, or in the follow-up work, or perhaps you will travel to an unreached area on the map and with your own eyes study and write an updated research paper? What ever your choice, it will be the adventure of your life... Do you want to take a sneak peak at the curriculum? Hold on, here it comes!
