Characteristics of an Apostle

This summer I am studying leadership, in preparation for our launch of SOS Church in Stockholm on August 29th... I love church plants and have been fully occupied with pioneer work among unreached peoples the last 12 years of my 18 in ministry as evangelist and Bible teacher... It will be a true joy to be apostolic in our Swedish capital this fall...



The Aussie David Cartledge is one of my favorites when it comes to leadership teaching and in his book The Apostolic Revolution he lists 12 Biblical characteristics of a true apostle. Here they come:







1. Signs, wonders and miracles. 2 Cor 12:12

2. Plants churches. 1 Cor 9:1

3. Humility. 1 Cor 4:9

4. Confirmation through other apostles. Gal 2:9

5. Sacrifices (serves others). Phil 2:17

6. Suffering and persecution. 2 Cor 4:8-11

7. Angelic visitations. Acts 27:23

8. Jesus revelations. Acts 9:3-6, 1 Cor 9:1

9. Authority. 2 Cor 10:8

10. Confirms, sets in place and commissions other five fold ministers. Ats 14:23, Tit 1:5

11. Oversight and discernment. 1 Cor 5:5

12. Corrects. Acts 13:9-12
