Definition of Missions

Missions must be defined as; the gospel to a totally unreached people group or culture. A missions trip must be defined; we travel with the message of Jesus, the Son of God, to an unreached ethnicity or unreached Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist culture. What I just mentioned, and nothing less, is defined as; missions. The message of Jesus' death, resurrection, forgiveness and victory is light in compact demonic darkness! The strong kingdom of God pushes back satan's diminishing kingdom! The disciples of Jesus triumph when new churches are planted, established and become strong Apostolic centers.
Our Swedish word mission comes from the New Testaments Latin translation Vulgata, and from its word for Apostle; ie "missio"… In the Vulgata text apostles were called "missio," in other words; missionaries. Not all missionaries are apostles, but all apostles are indeed missionaries! That fact is the same now as it was back then. An apostle cannot be anything but a missionary! He is a pioneer in all his being. An apostle is sent out by Jesus with a message. Jesus Christ's own messenger, just as the word defines! God is raising up apostle-missionaries in the End Times to rebuild and reform Christianity to its original form in modern days for the last generations.
So, to go to the US, South Korea or Romania to evangelize is not per definition a missions trip, just because you leave your country.
To go, sent by the Spirit as an "Apostolos" due to the Greek origin text, means to be sent out by Jesus and to be His messenger! In the adventurous texts in the book of Acts, the apostles obeyed the Holy Spirit and started and established new churches in new cities and cultures all the time. Disciples were born, raised and trained! Strong Jesus-disciples who lived radical lives as followers of Him!

In SOS we believe in unreached peoples missions and apostolic mission work because it's really the only thing that can be defined as missions according to the Bible, and that stands strong when criticized.

To determine if it's really a missions trip you are going on, or a vacation, ask yourself these questions before you leave;

1) Am I traveling to an unreached ethnicity or culture?
2) Am I sent by the Holy Spirit?
3) Am I going for my own experiences sake, or because I really want to see a people, city, or culture transformed by Jesus?

See ya!

Family Visiting

To sleep in once a week is quality of life. To have friends that you are totally secure with, to be able to talk to about everything without being condemned. To have time to cook together as a family and close friends and enjoy the 30 minutes afterwards drinking coffee and playing cards. To have time to laugh with the kids, help them with their homework and enjoy studying your wife's smile dimples - on a regular Wednesday evening...
Workout bag in the trunk of the car, Adam's karate clothes on the floor in his room, riding and bike helmets in the hallway... Coffee cups, magazines and opened Bibles on the bar table in the kitchen...

SOS Church Stockholm, launched August 29th 2009 became a new start for everything! Life became lovely! The best we've ever done! Thank you Jesus! We received pure and true quality of life with SOS downtown! Not just the Amritzer family, but the entire leadership team experienced the same, no exceptions...

This coming week I have a x-ray and an appointment at the orthopaedist, then physical therapy; I almost forgot that I just had surgery ;).

The kids have their winter sports holiday, no school next week, so we will have time for other things as well like going to the movies, playing games and family Bible studies...

I am baptizing newly saved this week too :)!
My dad Ewald, me and my son Adam

My dad, Ewald is visiting with his wife Anette. Tonight we'll eat together and play cards...

Surgery No 2

I just had surgery on my knee again... They opened my right leg at four different places, made a new cruciate ligament of tendons from my shin and put everything in place in my knee... They have drilled, put in a plate and screw... I don't understand half of it ;), but I am so thankful to the soo professional surgeon Mr Superman... After some rest and 6 months of rehab I should be able to go skiing, run and play beach volleyball again :)! Thank you Jesus!

It's rough now though... A lot of complications after the operation... Fever, enlarged tonsils and one of the incisions ruptured and I bled a lot... Excruiating pain... I have to take a lot of pain killers. Maria and the kids are taking care of me... Alicia is so sweet :)! I am getting more help than I need... Thank you God for all the wonderful people in SOS as well, they are many! We (the Amritzer family) are rich to be surrounded by such a large, warm and loving family.

I am tired, in pain, but I am on my way to get better! It always just gets better! Everything gets better! I believe in a good, faithful, just, huge, strong and generous God!

See ya!

Curious?

Someone once invented the wheel, the alphabet, the internet and space shuttles... These people must have, in old and modern history, been very curious...

Are you curious? I don't mean gossip-wise now, but to gather knowledge, solve problems and invent new things. I want to know, create, think new and be creative. I want to develop and not stand still. I refuse to stagnate and become a cynical 'know-it-all'...

Did you know that there used to be female gladiators, that 250,000 Swedes died in the Black Death and that the hourglass probably was invented in Italy?! Did you know that it's a myth that the Vikings had horn on their helmets?! Did you know that Winston Churchill smoked as many as 6-10 cigars every day?! Chess was inveted in Persia around 500 AD, that the first baby-stroller was built in the 18th century and that the saxophone was made by Belgian Adolphe Sax... Well, well, those who are interested are taking notes ;).
Adolphe Sax

I know all this because I read the magazine "Everything About History" and because I'm extremly curious. I love life and have the greedy appetite of the travelling adventurer!

I had the privilege of teaching hungry students at Hedmarktoppens folk-highschool in Hamar, Norway yesterday and today... Last night about 30 very spiritually curious and hungry Norwegian youths were baptized in the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues for the first time in life! Long live curiousity!

Me, Myself and My Belly Button...

Are your thoughts constantly about how you are doing? Your weight? Your looks? What other people think of you? Or what you think they think of you? No one wants to hang out with me. No one texts or calls me. No one posts on my Facebook. I have a blog but no one reads it. I am not popular. I am an outsider. I'm not really part of the inner circle. I think I'm a little burnt out. I've hit the wall. I am depressed...

Met me provoke you a little bit. We can all end up the ditch I just described at times.

What are we doing?! Why are we looking so deep into our belly button? Why do we only see the dirt that's inside of our own sun glasses? Focus cannot be on ourselves guys! We are not hitting a wall, we will go right through it so that dry wall and wood flies everywhere! Do you understand?! We are not depressed. Not really our style. Just the way it is. We can't help it. We are programmed for victory, success and blessings!

We have Jesus! We win, baptize and heal! We make happy disciples to the "Lord of Joy" ;)! We love life! We see others! We embrace Stockholm and the world :)! We laugh as we ride the subway and whistle on the bus. We dance the most at the wedding. We sing the loudest at the birthday party. That's just the way we are! We can't help it. We are criminally positive. We are new race on this earth. We are always loud and crack jokes. Our problems are of the luxury kind, if we have any. We baptize more than we can take care of sometimes! Like that would be something to complain about... We burn and are passionate for our cause. Does that bother you ;)?! We want everyone to become missionaries, love to travel and try new things! We totally believe that a missions trip cures a depression! We believe that focus on evangelisation and discipleship drives away a heavy soul and common religious confusion. We don't need to be prayed over again. Sorry. We need to cast our some demons in a slum area in Nepal or Bangladesh. We need to eat a steak after the fast :).

I think we are called the SOS People ;)!

We are Moving Forward!

So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.
Joshua 24:13

Counting the four gatherings of this weekend; youth meeting, leadership gathering and double celebrations we gathered around 500 people (including the kids)! SOS Church Stockholm is storming forward, we have already baptized 10 this year and we are aiming at baptizing 75 disciples to Jesus 2012!

People gave so generously to our church plant in Bienne, Switzerland this weekend! Money speaks commitment! An entire team is flying down to Bienne for the church launch March 18th! We placed our hands on Timothee and Manuelle Zurcher and sent them to Switzerland to do what the Holy Spirit told them to do. We are happy to reproduce and multiply ourselves in Central Europe! Exciting!

Ron Johnson and Melodie Leake were so great in the services this weekend :)! Thank you to our partners in the US! We love you!

We are placing a bid on a property in the city this week and believe that God will give us grace and favor! We really need larger premises now! Lord Jesus, build your church!

See ya!

The weekend starts off large scale at SOS Church tomorrow with out Leadership Day that begins at 9 am! Ron Johnson and Melodie Leake have arrived in Stockholm and we are just soo excited about what the Holy Spirit will do... We also have "grand visitors" from Switzerland; our own Timothee and Manuelle Zurcher who attended SOS Mission Bible College landed in Stockholm today as well!

This will be a daughter church to SOS Church Stockholm and we are soo proud of them and know that they will succeed in building a strong and large church. All offerings at this weekend's services will go directly toward the launch of their church! Why don't you be a part of this as well?! Switzerland needs Jesus! We need to bless what God is doing in Bienne! E-mail our Finance Manager Emelie Berntsson of you want to make a donation to SOS Church Bienne, or click here to donate directly on our website! RON IS COMING!

I am sooo happy that Ron Johnson is coming to Stockholm on Thursday... A true Apostle will visit SOS Church this weekend! A man with so much wisdom, weight and life experience. My mentor is coming! I am happy! Ron has meant so much to me over the years...
I met him about 10 years ago... Exactly when I needed him; true heavenly timing... I had been preaching a little more than 10 years then and had no idea that life could change so quickly and drastically that it actually did in about a year. I was an Evangelist is the Swedish Pentecostal Movement at that time. Preached at the big conferences like Nyhem, Lapplandsveckan, the Evangelist Week and in all the large Pentecostal churches in the country. A lovely time that I am sooo thankful for and look back at with gratitude. Sooo many saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit! Thank you Jesus! I become some sort of "Youth Guru" in the free churches that had a missions organisation on the side :). Early SOS focused only on festivals among unreached peoples and spreading litterature...

Everything changed when I met Ron. My spiritual dad opened my eyes and introduced me to the "Apostolic"... We soon went from an evangelistic ministry to an apostolic; i.e. church planting in the different mission fields, reproducing spiritual sons and daughters through our Bible school and writing several books and booklets. Everything changed; we started sending out missionaries, started mission bases, and mission offices in a broad and aggressive way... Sweden exploded :), but also the international ministry and partnerships with different apostolic centers all over the world were formed. For the first time in my life I received true and real covenant friends in both apostolic pastors and business men all over the world... Thank you Jesus! Everything improved! It's so great to go with God :)!

Ron Johnson will be preaching at our Leadership Day on Saturday. It starts at 9 am, welcome! Click here for schedule! Ron will also preach on Sunday at our celebrations both at 12 noon and 4 pm!

See ya!

Sunday at Home in Stockholm

I just came home from a great wedding feast! A perfect mix Chaldean/Swedish style. I had the priviledge of performing the wedding between Josef Rafail and Linnéa Hagenfors on Friday night at the Södertörn Church. Afterwards we went to a large festive hall in Fittja and I'm telling you, it was a party; dance for hours and food from the Middle East... Lovely! I enjoyed myself like a king! It's soon 2:30 am now...
On Sunday I preach at home here in Stockholm again, both at 12 noon and 4 pm. At noon Walter Zuniga will teach us how to dance bachata... But only at the noon celebration... Come at 12 noon! Especially families with kids; try to prioritize the noon service, your kids need a real kids celebration and not just baby sitting... I am longing to preach at home again! Oh, I can't wait to see the entire church again!

See ya soon!

A Cool Business Man

He calls me now and then. We meet 4-5 times a yer. He lives in another country. We are not just good friends, but 'partners'. He is a covenant friend and brother, I hope you understand what I mean. We need each other to be able to fulfill our different tasks and callings, assigned by heaven. We respect each other. We don't manipulate but speak straight from the heart. We are straight, totally honest and sincere.

He visited me in Stockholm awhile ago. We ate good, read the Bible together and prayed. He asked to have different investment possibilities presented to him. I presented 6 differnt projects.

I am his intercessor and priest and he is my mission-partner. We enjoy hanging out. He serves me, supports and help me, and I do the same for him.

He is king in his field. A very skilled business man with a very special and God-given ability to aquire riches. He releases funds for the Kingdom of God, but also creates job-opportunities for soo many people in society. He is building the Kingdom of God in a practical and concrete way. He has an Apostolic calling as a business man and I have the same calling as a missionary and church-builder. Our ministries are combined. We need to humble ourselves before one another. I need him, he needs me.

He went home. He prayed. A month later he wired an enormous gift to SOS account. Nothing more to it. He doesn't want anyone to know, that's why I am not telling you who it is. He did this before God. He did this because the Holy Spirit asked him to. He obeyed his God. He carried out his calling. He is happy. He'll receive his reward from heaven. He is walking in the goodness of God.

I have several partners like this, men of God who are strong, uncompromising leaders. You don't see our hear them. They are not on our platform in the headlights. They are lovely to be with. I am rich. Not neccesarily talking dollars and cents now. I am rich beacuse I have real covenant-partners. I am rich because I have real friends. Some give millions into SOS otheres hundreds, but all are obeying God and are standing together with me in the vision for the unreached and the fulfillment of the Great Comission!

My friend enjoys giving just as much as I enjoy leading thousands of people to salvation in our festivals around the world. When I preach healing and blind eyes and deaf ears are opened and people coming our of wheel chairs in the name of Jesus I am like a fish in the water! I love when the Holy Spirit falls upon thousands of hungry people and they are baptized in fire and start speaking in tongues. I am carrying out my calling. I plant and build churches. I enjoy being lead by the Spirit. My friends; the business men, enjoy being able to make a difference, to give and release missions in the End Times. They are obeying thier calling.

My friend is following God. I am following God. He is true to his calling and I to mine. That's just the way it is... There's nothing more to it. I love you my brother :)!

He is a cool business man!

See ya!
