Nelson is a 20 year old street kid. I met him at a park on Saturday morning and that same night he gave his life to Jesus!
When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad...
Acts 11:23a
Barnabas saw what "the grace of God had done". Exciting expression! Just imagine that the grace is working for us, if we dare believe and follow the Holy Spirit.
When we work, God rests. When we rest, God is at work. True faith is actually rest. I don't mean a casual, apathetic posture, that what happens, happens. No! That sport of posture looks more like believing in ones fate, and that does not go together with a sound Christian theology. Sometimes we need to, lead by the Spirit, storm forth in conquering faith and take a promised land. But I still must ask: "Do you dare trust that God works both better and more effectively than what you can do in your own strength? Do you dare to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and wait for Him?"
Please, don't pull yourself up in a knot in 2015, trying to fulfill all your New Years resolutions. If you try too much, you will block the grace and the lovely work of the Holy Spirit in your life... Relax and just rest in that God loves you and that He is for you.
Let the Holy Spirit guide and lead both people, miracles and answers to prayer to you. Make yourself available and open. Say: "here I am, use me when you want!" Enjoy life with a big L and listen to the still small voice in your heart and be meticulous to follow it. That's when it happens. People will come to you and want to be saved! Miracles and answers to prayer will come! Don't run after it. Don't work so hard. It will come to you! It will come to you if you rest and believe!
See ya!
