In just two months the city of Mbeya will be flooded with visitors. The Tanzania Assemblies of God is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a large conference and have invited 5,000 pastors to the city from all around the country. At the same time SOS is bringing a team of close to 200 people to evangelize the city.
God is about to show up in this city like never before. He has been planning and orchestrating this for a long time. Thousands of pastors coming to town, that will be getting up early in the morning to pray, wild and hungry missionaries, also up early praying for the city and ready for the streets. This will be a week to remember.
Johannes Amritzer and I landed in Mbeya on Tuesday morning. Our local organizing committee had set up several meetings with key people in the city; the District Commissioner, the Regional Immigration Officer and the Regional Commissioner. We also had a lunch with the Muslim leaders of the city, a breakfast meeting with influencial business people of the region and a dinner with goverment leaders and officials. They all extended a warm welcome to Mbeya and are standing with us in this upcoming festival.

The second part of the trip was to have mobilization meetings in key churches in the city. Three nights of packed out buildings, with standing room only. God showed up and injected faith into these dear believers. They caught the fire and it will now spread through out the city to all the churches. This city is getting up on its feet. The expectations for July are already high and will be rising the weeks that remain…
In a few weeks this field will be flooded with precious people who have come to hear the gospel message, be healed in the their bodies and changed forever in Jesus' powerful name!
