10% to the King!

I've hunted deer a few days in Småland, managed to shoot an old deer that had marked his territory...

Sitting in my dad's kitchen now, haven't shaved for days, still in my hunting clothes, meditating on Biblical economy...

Many Christians tithe; ie they give 10% of their salary to the church where they belong. Far from all Christians tithe though, and excuse themselves by saying that it is an Old Testament thing. Wrongfully they say that "tithing belongs to the old covenant", the covenant that was made between God and the people of Israel during Moses' time and it is connected to the law that was given through this man of God. No! Tithing was practiced before the time of Moses (Gen 14:17-20) and is therefore practiced even after we have received a new and better covenant with God through Jesus (Heb 8:6).

In Hebrews seventh chapter we read this wonderful verse:

... and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.”
Heb 7:2

Melchizedek was according to the Bible, "priest of the God most high" and a prophetic forerunner to Jesus, God's Son. Melchizedek was also king of Salem, which means peace. Melchizedek was both king and priest. The Arabic and Jewish ancestor gave him "10% of everything."

Abraham gave 10% to the king! We give 10% to Jesus! He is our king, but also our priest (Heb 9:11)! Jesus is the King of righteousness and King of peace! He is worthy of us tithing! When you tithe to your church you are offering gifts of gratefulness to King Jesus!

When you have decided to tithe faithfully you will enter into blessings and protection that drives out all curses. Your finances will be blessed! The windows of heaven will open! God's overflow will be poured out over you! (Mal 3:8-11)

See you at Globen this Friday for Gospel Night and at Norra Latin on Sunday for our Kick-Off celebration at 4 pm!

Next Stop: Chicago!

After a great weekend at Freedom Valley Church in Gettysburg PA at my good friends, Gerry and Julie Stoltzfoos, and a quick stop at New Life Church in Canonsburg south of Pittsburgh my family and I are on the road again!

Jesus did so many amazing miracles this past weekend; around 100 precious people in the Gettysburg area gave their lives to Jesus and some 15-20 were baptized in the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues! One lady was healed in her tail bone, one man from Turrets Syndrome, back pain disappeared and many more healings occurred. The weekend ended with water baptism, could it get any better? Jesus is amazing!

Now we are heading to Chicago and Ron Heitman's Evangel Church. I will be preaching there this Sunday (Aug 11) at 9 and 11 am and also at 6 pm. I am so looking forward to it!

Identify Jesus!

I am travelling in the US right now, Gettysburg, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Wichita... Preaching Jesus, teaching and praying for people. I am here with my family and we will end our stay in the US with a weeks vacation before school starts and our Kick Off home in Stockholm... New Bible School students (start Aug 22), Gospel Night at Globen (Aug 23) and our church's kick off (Aug 25)! I am actually longing for a new exciting fall!

I have to show my passport very often on my travels around the world. Immigration officers, customs, hotel receptionists want to have proof that I am who I say that I am. My passport, and sometimes my drivers license are necessary at the bank, when I have to exchange money or rent a car... Nothing would work without my passport and/or drivers license. I would not be allowed to rent the car, stay at the hotel or even enter the country. I always have to identify myself, and it doesn't bother me, that is just the way it is... To identify yourself is just a part of life and to verify who is who  is important. I don't want an electrician to work on my teeth or an ophthalmologist to fix my car... Right man in the right place and declaration of contents that can be trusted, or nothing will work ;).

Jesus, the Son of God has a passport as well! He proves that He is He! Miracles, signs and wonders are His finger prints and His signature!

Read:

Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.
Acts 2:22

Many churches, priests and pastors say that they preach the gospel and have Jesus at the center, but I think you should ask for their identification papers and legit Christian signs. Where Jesus is, miracles, signs and wonders are performed! Don't be content with what's not real, just beautiful words and flakes... Peter said; if it's you Jesus, tell me to come to you on the water! Jesus answered; come! Just because the building or institution says that it's Christian, or someone there uses religious phrases doesn't mean that Jesus is really there. Ask to see their passports or drivers license!
