A Higher Standard!

A new year, a new sharpened edge and higher demands at SOS Leadership Academy... Yesterday our students had an exam on Pastor Ulf Ekman's book; A Spiritual Leader and today they start studying John Bevere's book; Honor's Reward. After that we'll go on to Joyce Meyer and of course lots of missions literature  Nothing less is expected at SOS ;).

New for this year is that we've expanded our teacher-lead educational visits with a visit at a mosque, a synagogue, the Embassy of Tanzania, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, the district court, the parliament etc. We want to train leaders to have excellent knowledge of the Bible and a broad general knowledge that will impact nations in the long run.

I am enjoying praying with our students, seeing how they are doing ministry in a sound way and taking more and more responsibility... Discipline and good habits bring forth sharp leaders that are creative and hungry on life!

Apply now and attend one year at our Leadership Academy! You will not be sorry...

See ya soon!

Guests of Honor in Stockholm!

Two men of God landed in Stockholm yesterday! Bishop Glorious Shoo from Kilimanjaro and Pastor Huruma Nkone from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is visiting SOS Church this weekend! Bishop Glorious has a great ministry right at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro with a church, orphanage, schools etc. As Bishop he oversees more than 200 churches as well, and he is SOS' East Africa coordinator since 6 months back. Pastor Huruma  is the Lead Pastor of Victory Christian Center in the muliti-million city Dar es Salaam. It is a young, aggressive church that is constantly growing! They were the hosts for our festival in DAR this past summer and Huruma and his coworkers did such an excellent job both during the festival and afterwards; taking care of all the new converts, discipling and baptizing them! These men are real heroes!

The Evangelist is Back!

The bear has brushed off the leaves and has come out of its hibernation! The lion is roaring again! What are you talking about Johannes?! Well... The evangelist-gift on the inside of me has really come to life again this past weekend in Pittsburgh after 4 intense pioneer years of being the Lead Pastor of SOS Church Stockholm... We prayed with more than 50 to salvation and around 40 were baptized in the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues for the first time the last three services at APC! Wiho!!!

I am dreaming and casting vision together with my festival general Peter Almqvist on how to expand and build our portable festival equipment to go from 100,000 people to 500,000 people crowds... Another large screen (29 x 39 ft) and two more loud speaker towers (42 ft high) should get the job done... Will probably cost another $150,000 - $500,000...

Unreached mega cities has to conquered according to what the Spirit of Jesus has said over the past years. In 2013 we are targeting Mwanza and Tanga in Tanzania  and Karachi in Pakistan. We are already focusing on the city of Antanarivo on Madagascar in 2014! More cities in Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and India are waiting for us and our spiritual ears are hearing the SOS signals clear, but far away...

The city of Antanarivo on Madagascar...

In the last three festivals the largest crowds have been between 50,000-70,000 people in one meeting (very reductive figures), but now we are aiming at having 100,000 people in one festival meeting! We have had somewhere between 17,000-25,000 people in follow up classes after each festival in the city of Sialkot, Failsalabad in Pakistan and in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Now we are praying and aiming for 100,000 people to be saved and become disciples this year!

Lord Jesus, help us reach the unreached people groups and these mega cities now! Lord, release key miracles, signs and finances! Speak to and call on workers! Lord Jesus, we are praying and crying out to you!

Welcome to SOS Church Stockholm and our Prayer Days for unreached people groups this Friday - Sunday!

Day of the Next Generation

Today SOS Kids launched Day of the Next Generation! Andreas and Jenny Jensen, Children Pastors at SOS Church Stockholm, have challenged us parents and the entire church family to take day 20 each month as a day to pray extra for our kids! I think it is such a good idea! At SOS Church Stockholm we already challenge and encourage parents to take responsibility for the spiritual growth of their own children. Today I am praying for:

1. God's plan for our children's life
Before I was born the Lord called me; from my mother's womb he has spoken my name. Isa 49:1

2. That our children will grow spiritually
And the child grew and became strong in spirit. Luke 1:80

3. That parents will take time to help their kids
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Prov 22:6

Maria and I have through the years always tried to as often as possible sit down with our kids and have Bible studies with them. The kids love it! Pastor Andreas and Jenny want to help the parents at SOS Church Stockholm to make this a habit. Your kids will love these moments together with you!

SOS Kids...

In our family, the 20th of each month no longer only means child support, but more so also a day of prayer for our own kids, the kids of SOS Church Stockholm and the kids all over the city! We will also take some of these "day 20" as days of fasting. Join us in prayer! If you are a parent or not, pray with us for your future kids, the kids of the church and the kids in the city! Let us join together and give Jesus to the next generation!

See ya!

USA

I've been back in the US about a week... I really love our partners here. Preached at New Life Church in Youngstown this past weekend and reconnected with my dear friends Juan and Dedree Rivera. Many saved and healed! Thank you Jesus! They honored and took care of me and Peter Almqvist sooo well; Americans really know how to get the best out of a pretty scarred and worn out man that I've become over the years ;).

Today I taught "Ever Increasing Faith" at the Bible School that we run together with APC here in Pittsburgh... Had soup together with Jeff and Melodie Leake and then met with their TV-team to shoot a new info DVD for SOS that will be released some time this spring...

Melodie and Jeff are some of Maria's and my very best friends...

I am enjoying teaching, preaching and presenting Jesus, but most of all I think I enjoy the extra time I have for prayer and personal Bible studies the most...

See ya!

A New Time!

I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare.
Phil 2:20

The words of the Apostle Paul to his spiritual son Timothy fits so well in on what I am about to tell you. I am so proud to announce that since this past Sunday (Jan 6) Walter Zuniga is the Lead Pastor for SOS Church Stockholm! The leadership team and our mother church have secure shepherds in Linda and Walter and the work will expand greatly!

But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.
Phil 2:22

The Apostle Paul continues in his text, and this passage fits so well with Daniel Elvelyck. This past Sunday's celebration was also a "sending-off" celebration for Daniel and Stephanie and their three treasures. They are moving, hopefully January 17th, to Modesto, CA and the church The House. They are to build up SOS' West Coast Office and at the same time both study and teach at Kings University.

Don't miss Daniel Elvelyck's last message in Stockholm for awhile this Sunday (Jan 13). It will be super anointed!

So... What are you going to do now Johannes?! :)

It's now that I'll finally come to my full right. I will only be the Festival Evangelist, author and dad to our churches... I will represent the SOS family! I will be an intercessor and an Evangelist! SOS has a safe home and strong pastors and leaders... It is now that I can finally fulfill our ambition that we have had from the very start of SOS Church. Right man in the right place.

I will continue to preach once a month in Stockholm and I head up and teach at our Leadership Academy. SOS Church Stockholm is and will stay my base for aggressive missions among the unreached people groups!

It will be the best of Walter and the best of me. We will expand on all fronts, larger festivals, more books and sharper preaching! :)

I am so happy for our future!

See ya!

Oslo Philadelphia Church's Bible School

So much fun! I am teaching in Oslo for the 14th consecutive year... Same subject every year; Power Evangelism.

Teaching on how Jesus functioned in the gifts of the Spirit when He met people that were skeptic  critical religious leaders, squirmy politicians, soldiers, whores, contractors, children and the elderly... Jesus did not His perform signs and miracles in churches, prayer groups and conferences. Jesus performed miracles on the beach, the city squares, at the party, in the house, on the mountain and in the midst of the people-chaos in Jerusalem...

There are so many students here, more than 160, and so many nationalities! :)

I am flying home tomorrow night, preaching in Stockholm on Sunday! Longing...

See ya!

Preparation for Ministry

Life is lived in three periods;

1) The period of preparation.
2) The active "doing" period.
3) The period of transfer, or handing over.

Or you can say that life is lived in three seasons;

1) The season of gathering.
2) The season of building and carrying.
3) The season of distribution.

The first season/period of preparation and gathering is most important and totally essential for the two later ones...

The disciples became Apostles after being with Jesus 3.5 years. They were in boot camp to win the world before they were let out to do just that.

The Apostle Paul spent a long time in the Arabic desert after his salvation before his ministry as an Apostle really took off.

Moses had 40 years of experience being a shepherd in the desert before he became the sheperd of the people of Israel.

Newly saved and leaders that are too young often afflicted with pride, the Apostle Paul warns about this in 1 Tim 3:6.

SOS Mission Bible School and Leadership Academy starts again January 15th and you need to apply now! Click here to apply!

The unreached people groups, mega-cities and newly saved need you to take responsibility and come into the obedience of faith. We want to train you! Welcome!

See ya!
