Home to My Dear Austria

The Pastoral team of SOS Church Stockholm surprised me with a trip to my childhood's Austria... You are, without a doubt, the best friends in the world! I love you and do not deserve your love. Thankful and humble tears are filling my eyes as I write...

So, tomorrow I'll fly from Arlanda via Vienna to Klagenfurt in southern Austria. Planning to rent a car and drive up to the little alp village Knappenberg, at the altitude of 3609 feet. I will visit my dear old "Oma" i.e grandma. She is 88 years old and still totally unbeatable in the card game "Doppeldeutsche Schnapskarten" :). I will stay with my aunt Heidi and enjoy the good nature and food of my home Kärtnen...
Knappenberg...

I was born in Vallach right on the Italian border and came to Sweden for the first time in 1976. After we moved to Sweden the second time in 1980, after my parents divorce, I spent all my free time as a child with my family in Knappenberg. There I have warm memories from Christmases, winter holidays, Easter and summer holidays. Knappenberg was a firm point in my pretty turbulent childhood and teenage years...

I am going to read Austrian magazines, play cards, eat good and laugh a lot; that's pretty much my plan :).

Auf Wiedershen or see ya!

The Art of Enjoying

I had almost forgotten how to enjoy life... I've worked really hard for 20 years. Traveled,  taught, preached and written books... Arranged festivals among unreached people groups, preached at conferences, mission bases, Bible schools and at new church plants. Country after country, jet-laged, after nights of no sleep I've experienced wonderful adventures with countless miracles. I am so thankful to God that I have been able to proclaim the message of forgiveness through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to freedom in over two decades already...

But... This fall I am taking time off. Since the middle of October and until the new year I am not working at all. After many tests and examinations, several doctors have more or less demanded that I have to rest for my physical health's sake. Think I actually need to breathe just in general. It's hard to admit it, but this is what it is... It's hard when the only thing you know is work, but not how to relax and have time off ;). To really be off work, relaxed and reflect is an art that not many can master...
Our Swedish soccer hero; Zlatan Ibrahimovich...

I'm trying to learn this art of enjoying the minor matters of life like reading the newspaper's column on Swedish politics and the sports section on our soccer pro, Zlatan's, accomplishments. I'm working out, getting some sun, cooking, watching old movies again like Braveheart and going to the movies. So far I've seen the new movies; Palme, Skyfall and Call Girl. We bought a little black German Shepherd puppy; Tyson. I am so enjoying walking with him in the parks and teaching him to come, sit, shake paw, you know what I mean... I'm enjoying Bruno Mars songs like "The Lazy Song" and "Count on Me" :).

Our new family member; Tyson :)...

A warrior and bear has entered into deep winter sleep, but after new year I think it's time for him to awake again... But right now we'll sleep a little longer :)...

See ya!

Lasse Nylén - Loved and Missed...

You were a living legend for so many years; now you are "just" a legend... You were a groundbreaking and revolutionary children's preacher, but also a strong intercessor, evangelist-dad and family counselor...
Your legacy and spirit will continue to live in all of us that followed, knew and loved you. Thank you Lasse for the times that I got to cry with you and thank you for listening. Now you are home with Jesus...

Back to Tanzania in 2013!

I'm praying a lot for our festivals next year... God has opened up this nation so beautifully for SOS. The pastors and churches we are working with are so solid, strong and great. Next summer we will be going back to do two festivals. One in June in the multi-million city Mawanza, located on Lake Victoria in the northwest and one in the city of Tanga at the coast.
Mwanza is Tanzania's second city with a population of around 2 million. Since it sits on Lake Victoria, a large number of the population has fishing as their main source of income. This is the home of the Sukuma people, who are known for their love of entertainment. A large group of the people are Animists, or have pagan beliefs and human sacrifices still exist. Albinos are sacrificed for success in life, business and family-life.
Mwanza city...

So, this is where Mwanza Signs & Wonders Festival will take place in June next year! This is a trip for our students at SOS Mission Bible School and our sister school in the US; MCM Ministry School, so it is not open for everyone. But, continue to read now and I'll tell you about a trip that you CAN join even if you're not one of our students this year;).

Four weeks after Mwanza it's time for Tanga Signs & Wonders Festival. Tanga is a city located on the coast, right on the Indian Ocean. It has a population of about half a million and is strictly Muslim. It is the second port city of the country and is known for its cement and sisal industry, 90% of the population are Muslim.
The festival ground in Tanga...

I am so looking forward to proclaim the good news about forgiveness though Jesus in these cities next summer! Join the team that is going to Tanga; the dates for the festival are July 17-21, but then you have to add some days for travel of course. Visit our website to sign up for this trip! Click here:)! We want a large monster-team from Sweden, Norway, the US and every other country I can think of with us to Tanga in July! Of course you should come!

See you in Tanzania next summer?! :)
