Jesus is Standing in the Inner City - Waiting!

Almost exactly four years ago, right in the middle of a long fast I had a dream of Jesus standing on the water crying out... We were forced out of the boat and all the loyalties we had at the time. SOS walked on water and it worked. Right there, in my prophetic dream, I was scared when I didn't see either the old boat or Jesus, after a short walk on the water. It was dark, foggy and tremendously lonely... I cried out; "Jesus, where are you?" He answered; "I am standing in the inner city, waiting!" I woke up at the hotel in Aalesund, Norway and just knew that it was time for SOS Church to be born. We launched the church August 29th 2009! Jesus was standing waiting on the water. He was standing in the inner city.

We have been at Warfvinges väg 26 in Stadshagen for three years, but now things are happening my friends:)! A large water leak is now driving us out of our current facilities. It's been a little crowded for a long time already; now we are forced to expand and grow! Thank you Jesus!

So, we will now be renting Polstjärnan at Sveavägen 77 from this coming Sunday and Sundays to come. For how long? We don't know. Until further notice. Exactly in the right time. Weird timing for this "accident" really ;). I am happy, excited and feel like a little boy about this move. We are probably a little weird in SOS, but happy... In our hearts we are always positive, we believe in a good God that will lead us forward and upward and that is why our ministry is constantly growing:)! It's time for us to come up from the basement! We will become more central and people will see and hear us!

We will have double celebrations in a modern conference-facility that seats around 400 people. Right in the city where we belong! This Sunday, the 28th I am preaching at 12 noon and at 4 pm our Walter Zuniga will preach; welcome!!! SOS Kids will have a huge kids service at 12 pm and at 4 there will be child care provided.

Dar es Salaam, June 2012...

Everything became better when we moved to Stockholm city! Larger festivals, missions teams, finances, more salvations and baptisms, daughter churches; multiplication in all areas!

Thank you Jesus for a new era and time! Thank you Jesus for Polstjärnan that is showing the way! Thank you Jesus for growth, expansion and a calling that drives us to be pioneers!

SOS Minute

My national Administrative Assistant and wife of our Children's Pastor, Jenny, has together with our Youth Pastor, Jonatan, started producing SOS Minute. We have shown these in every celebration this fall on what's in pipeline for SOS Church. Here's a little taste for you:


You're coming to our celebrations tomorrow, right?! Walter will preach sooo good! Celebrations are at 12 and 4 pm. I am in Trondheim, Norway preaching, but wishing that I was at home so I could hug everyone tomorrow :).

Growing Pains

SOS Church Stockholm gathered around 400 adults and 70 kids Sunday October 7th. Ok, it was Super Sunday, and everyone charged a little extra, but all indications show a positive trend and a strong growth in our church right now... Last Sunday we had 245 adults!

- Our latest Prayer Night gathered 160 people.
- SOS Youth gather around 40-50 youths every Friday night.
- Our All Nation Café's gather an average of 150-180 adults and around  50 kids (2-3 times every semester).
- Our Sunday Celebrations gather an average of 200 adults now and a little more than 50 kids... We have our ups and down of course, but these are average figures, no exaggeration...
- Our seminars gathered about 100 people to Bible Study once every semester.
- We almost have 40 house churches that meet every week.
- There's SOS Mission Bible School and the Leadership Academy...

And I have not even mentioned SOS Street Mission and SOS Business Class and their wonderful ministry.

We are probably somewhere around 500 active adults and 70 kids today... Most of our faithful members work on the weekends and can only attend maybe every other or every third Sunday. I am so grateful to God for the growth and I think it's pretty good considering that we started the church August 29th 2009 and are only three years old.

Now we have growing pains. We need more leaders and new facilities. We have a major water leake and have to renovate the church from now until Christmas. This means that we need to find new facilities to meet in just one week's time. It's not a problem, but for sure a challenge, especially in Stockholm city. Our leaders are very flexible and creative though and no one is too comfortable or afraid of working hard to make this work. It will be better now! This water leake is forcing us out of our facilities faster than we wished. I believe God is driving us forward :)!

This Sunday we meet again as usual for our celebrations at 12 and 4 pm at Warfvinges Väg 26, Stadshagen at Kungsholmen. Next week will be exciting. We will walk on water again. Jesus is standing on the water. He is waiting for us in the city :).

How Rich is God?!

40 light-years from Earth (our home) French and American scientists have just discovered the planet 55 Cancri e. It orbits around a star that we view with our very eyes as the star-sign Cancer. 55 Cancri e is double the size as the Earth and at least 1/3 of its material are pure diamond...

Just imagine that there are diamonds floating around in the universe as large as our Earth! How rich is our God?! Imagine that He is my dad! That He is in covenant with me! When I chose to believe and receive forgiveness, Holy Spirit and salvation I became a heir of the mightiest family in the universe...

What a Sunday!

A total of 27 people responded to the salvation invitation at our Super Sunday! The place was packed out and we had around 400 adults there. It was a pumped, intense and a creative bomb! I am sooo proud of the church that had invited so many people to the service. Thank you Jesus that I get to build your church in Stockholm! Thank you for all the precious people in Stockholm!

 
 
I so enjoyed having our friends Timothee and Manuelle Zurcher, Lead Pastors at SOS Church Bienne, here as well. It's such a joy to see how the church in Bienne is growing.

Celebrate Life!

At times, life is tough. The truth is that there are times when it seems so dark that  we seem to see no other way out than to end this so precious gift of life. Life does not always seem fair but instead it is often cynical, watered down and raw - and you then seem to be the target of all evil…

My friend, let me be the one to tell you that there are thousands of reasons to live… There is light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes our feet need to hit the bottom in order for us to be able to shoot off towards the surface and the sun light again. Not sure why, but perspective makes us more thankful, humble and wise. If we have not stared down death we do not treasure life or we end up living halfheartedly. Near death experiences and the deepest darkness often lead to true life. Jesus bled, died and then He rose in light and power! He conquered death and hopelessness! As we surrender and give in, something new begins - a new era. We can die to the old, ourselves, and begin to live for real, for others! Jesus is the Life! The Spirit of Life pulsates within the church - His body on earth today!

Tomorrow we will celebrate life at SOS Church Stockholm and will have a party at Polstjärnan at 4pm! (Get off the subway at Odenplan, the address is Sveavägen 77. It is at the intersection of Sveavägen and Odengatan. Click here for a map!). The celebration or service (whatever you want to call it) will fill you with hope… At around 6 pm you will re-enter the streets perhaps a little dizzy but also hopefully filled with faith in the future… There will be lots of energy, joy and we might even wipe away some tears of thankfulness. We survived! We are now living x 2!

Prayer Night and Super Sunday!

I love to see SOS Church grow and bloom! Our Celebrations are really taking off now! The Holy Spirit is at work and we are baptizing and discipling people all the time. Everything is growing! The kids and youth ministry, more house churches and more attendance every Sunday! Miracles and answer to prayer!

This Friday, after SOS Youth, it's time for this fall's first prayer night. We will start at 10 pm and see when we end... I love when we gather just to seek God in worship and sincere prayer. If you have never prayed together with SOS; come! Click here for address and directions to the church.

On Sunday, October 7th we have Super Sunday with the theme; Celebrate Life! A creative bomb will explode and this is a perfect opportunity for you to invite seekers and people curious of our belief.
