The Church of the Living God!

Jesus Himself builds it. It has power over the devil. It provides protection for people. It grows through the comforting words of the Holy Spirit. The demons are under its feet. Jesus is its head. It is the body of Jesus on earth today. It is the fullness of God and fills everyone that comes near it. It is God's own house. It is full of life and very much living. It is the pillar of truth. It is the foundation for all absolutes. What am I talking about? The church!!! Long live the church!
Saturday at SOS Church...

...and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Matt 16:18b

Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
Acts 9:31

And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Eph 1:22-23

...God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
1 Tim 3:15b
It's Sunday tomorrow again and all over the world hundreds of millions of people will gather to celebrate Jesus' victory and Him as person! In all nations. The church is alive! I hope to see you at SOS Church Stockholm tomorrow! Our celebrations are at 12 noon and 4 pm!

Welcome!

You Choose!

Now choose life, so that you and your children may live...
Duet 30:19b

As an adult you choose every day how to live your life! No one else does. Du actually make all the decisions yourself. You choose what to think about, talk about and how to react to your surroundings. You can choose to laugh a lot, encourge and speak faith! Du can choose joy, gratefulness and the adventure. You can choose simplicity and friendship. You can choose not to fight, but to love and forgive. Your life can be great! Your future is sooo bright! Choose blessings and life my friend!
I preach home at SOS Church on Sunday, 12 noon and 4 pm. Will preach about "Holy Monuments!" I'll see you, right?! So want to look into your eyes and give you a hug!

The SOS Family Lifestyle

I have tried to live according to these three guidelines the recent past years;

1) A strong inner (spiritually) life! I.e. regular Bible reading, prayer and fasting...
2) A strong extroverted life! I.e. spending time (every week) with people who doesn't yet share my faith, but are seeking after God and the meaning of life. But I also try to meet the new disciples of Jesus to coach and disciple them...
3) A sound life! That means regular physical training, and also "training" for my soul; read new books, see new movies and try new things all the time...
All that I just mentioned is important to have a strong and sound balance in life, but also to prioritize your immediate family; wife and kids... Don't ever stop investing in close friends and life-long friendships either, the covenant friends.

Mobilization for the Festival!

Five people have been working around the clock this past week here in Dar. Lots of logistics and not so few tasks and details that need to be in place for a team of 200 people. Today we have actually preached at 7 different churches in the city, mobilizing workers... I spoke at 3 large churches just today with an audience of 500, 1,100 and 1,500; many saved in every service and strong prayer for the city!
Mobilizing for the festival in June...
Tonight we celebrated Peter Almqvist (SOS' Festival Coordinator since 2002), he's 37 today! Happy birthday Peter! We aimed high and went to a first-class restaurant right by the Indian Ocean; Hotel Seacliff. We ate and ate :)... Fun with an African first-class resataurant, it costs nothing compared to Europe. Fun to feel like you're a millionaire sometimes :)...
Peter...

Signs & Wonders Festival Dar es Salaam June 13-17 will be exciting!

Working in Dar

We had a very successful mobilization-meeting for pastors at the Lundmark Hotel this morning. The breakfast-meeting didn't end until 1pm :). No one wanted to leave... Wonderful!

Tonight I preached at another packed out Pentecostal Church here in the city and God performed miracles... Tears streamed down peoples faces and one girl had her left ear opened by Jesus and could hear perfectly again!

We have worked with the preps for our mega-team in June as well, made deals with hotels and bus companies... We have about 190 team members signed up from both Sweden, Norway and the US. More are signing up all the time and we will probably be around 200 hungry and charged festival-missionaries, as was our goal from the start!

Dar es Salaam

I'm back in the large several-million city Dar, that the Holy Spirit called us to... Everything started on my flight from Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, East Africa to Europe in May 2010. The Holy Spirit whispered; "the next city is Dar es Salaam"... We have been working in that direction since then.
This morning SOS held a press conference at Peacock Hotel with about 25 different journalists... Curiosity for the event is growing at different magazines, radio and TV channels and mices were placed in front of me while TV cameras were rolling. I tried to do the job of John the Baptist, to prepare for the mega star; Jesus! You see, Jesus will actually visit Dar June 13-17! Oh, how I am longing for those days! Will be so exciting to be by His side...

Tonight I had the priviledge to preach in a large Pentecostal Church in the outskirts of the city... The Bishop Mhiche that is the chairman of our comittee was the host and the church was really packed out and the worship lovely! Many saved and several healed through words of knowledge!

Jesus healed this man from bad hearing on his left ear...

Jesus healed this woman's back (herniated disc) through a word of knowledge...

I'm writing this blogpost with a ounding heart... Don't really know why... Feel very humble and crushed when I think of the support and back-up we have received from all the Christians in this city, the mega churches and from mature priests and pastors... God, help me to be a worthy representative for Your Kingdom and help me present Jesus and the Gospel as clearly as possible...

Why Give to God?!

The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it...
Ps 24:1

God doesn't need anything. He is already very rich, but you still give to Him every month. Do you think that God needs 10% of your income? Do you really think God needs your money? Is He starving? Is He naked? Is He homeless? But you still give to Him all the time. Why?! Because you need to. You need to give. Something happens with you when you do. You become free when you give. You deal with your own greediness and practise generosity when you give. You honor God with your possessions when you give. The sound of your money is music to His ears.

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Matt 6:24

You don't give beacause He needs it, but because you become truly free when you confess that He is your provider and not the dollars and cents. Cause God is not poor, He's actually really rich! That's why He is the best investment for your finances! No one wants to buy stocks that will decrease in value. We always choose the best interest and best returns on our investments. No body wants to invest in a sinking ship or put money into black holes. We give to God because He is rich. That's why you need to give, not only to the poor, but also to those who are rich. Remember that you are never really just giving to a church, organization or priest, but to God.
Well, these are some thoughts from my private Bible studie today. This is a little taste of my seminar in May; "God Wants to Make You Rich." Don't miss it, May 19th at 10 am to 2 pm at SOS Church.

Right now I'm on my way to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Going down to preach in 5 mega churches in the city and have a pastors breakfast with 1000 pastors. I am there to prepare for our large festival in June and our Pastors Conference "Apostolic Breakthrough 2012." Its focus will be teaching on the five fold ministry gifts and church planting among unreached people groups. I will be blogging every day while I'm there so you can pray for me :)!

SOS Missions Trips

I prayed a salvation prayer in January 1990, preached my first message June 1991, then since the summer of 1992, after I completed lighter Theology studies, I have preached more or less full time. The first five years of preaching I had side jobs as a welder, German teacher and taught "Swedish for Immigrants."

I went on my first missions trip the summer of 1992 (3 weeks) and it changed my life forever. I spent the entire summer of 1993 in a sleeping bag as three missions trips came after another. Eastern Europe was wide open at that time and we lived the Book of Acts in the former closed communist states... We met unreached  European people in cities in Poland, East Germany and Czechia. There were hardly any "revival chrurches" or Christians speaking in tongues the places we went... We preached, danced, had street theater, played soccer and had cook outs with with lost youths. We prayed salvation, healing and baptism in the Holy Spirit prayers with the people our age as tears streamed down our faces. We saw Jesus perform miracles in run-down Eastern European apartment komplexes, in parks and in smoky taverns. We baptized in fire dams and lakes and heard the speaking in tongues echo for the first time in apartment stairwells and on buses.
Ethiopia 2005...

Bulgaria 2002...

Since I tasted the adventure-life and got "hooked", I have never stopped going on missions trips... We went on our first mission trip to Africa in 1995, and 1996-1998 were intense years with lots of travelling to East African countries, but also to Russia and the Phillippines. 1998 we started working in India, 1999 in Pakistan, 2001 in Bulgaria... I have lost count the last ten years since I travel between the different continents all the time... Continous jet-lag... Thailand, Ethiopia, Nepal and Latin America... I have done more than 60 festivals in 20 years and just want to do more!
Nepal 2010...

Nicaragua 2008...

When you have been on your first missions trip you will know why I and all the tenacious SOS people are hooked. The mission trip will change you forever. You become marked for life and tattoed by Jesus Himself. Life with big L is lived on the festival and mission trip and time in between kinda becomes like transport distance. This will happen;

1) The mission trip will wake up an empathy and passion in you to share the Gospel of Jesus with those who have never had the chance to hear about Jesus' forgiveness and freedom. Once a missionary, always a missionary :).
2) The mission trip will make you bolder since you are not at home anymore and you suddenly prayed for a blind person that just received their sight, or a deaf person that received their hearing. You will be so happy that will walk around "high on happiness" for days - He used me! It worked!!!
3) The mission trip will strip you of everything unnecessary. You will find yourself just as happy, maybe even happier, without warm water, toilet paper or Wifi. "Naked" happiness is found on the mission field.
4) The mission trip will give you perspective. You will meet poverty, need and life stories you didn't thought existed. You will discover that you actually have everything, will become grateful and humble.
5) You become family with the other missionaries forever when you share blood, sweat, dance in the rain, laugh and rejoice when Jesus performs miracles.

Come with us on a festival soon!

Woke up on the couch yesterday, had three pieces of toast and coffee ;). Enjoyed the aftertaste of a wonderful Sunday at SOS Church Stockholm. Lovely people, salvations and baptism in the Holy Spirit! Thought of all the good God has done in my life! All the festivals, miracles and surprises. The kids, friends, hunting memories, fishing trips, skiing trips, motor cycle vactions... God is just so good :)!
