The Anointing!

The Holy Spirit lives in every believer. We are the temple of God on this earth. Together we are Jesus' body (1 Cor 6:19, 2 Cor 6:16, 1 Peter 2:5)!

What is the difference between the Holy Spirit and the anointing of the Holy Spirit?

The anointing is connected to the special task and is directly related and connected to what we have specifically been called by God to do. Anointed by the Spirit for a specific ministry. In the stories of the Old Testament the Spirit would fall over the judge, the prophet and then over the specially chosen king of Israel... Anointed titles and tasks for bigger responsibilities and assignments for the people that were to be lead.

Today the Spirit comes to and over everyone after Jesus' redemption-death, ressurrection and ascension (Joel 2:28-29, Acts 2:17-18)! First born again and new creations through the Holy Spirit in salvation, then baptism in the Holy Spirit to be able to actualize and complete the Great Comission given by Jesus Himself (Mark 1:8, 16:15-20, Acts 1:5, 8)!

Even in the New testament there is an anointing over the calling and assignment. A special grace and power from God for a specific people or area (Gal 2:7-9).

The anointing, the mandate and the breakthrough all goes together with the person God has called, raised up and placed in a specific place or city!

God sent and anointed Jesus! God can call, send and anoint you!

...how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Acts 10:38

John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.
John 3:27

For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.
John 3:34

Joy for Life, Quality and Soundness

Reading all my old classic Kenneth E Hagin books again... Read a lot of Hagin in the old days :). Wonderful to just work yourself through the "faith library" title by title... After Hagin I'm heading to Lester Sumrall, John Osteen and Reinhard Bonnke... There is no better festival litterature than real radical honest faith teaching based upon the Bible... Just wanna pray, my faith rises and vitalises my spirit!

Otherwise my days contain work-meetings, leadership gatherings, counselling, prayer and meetings with seekers and new in the faith... I drive between the different pastoral tasks, restaurants and home visits, on my Harley... Trying to make time to work out and hang out with my wonderful kids as well...

My wonderful kids!

Joy for life, spring, sunshine, quality and soundness - how did it get this good?!

See ya!

Invest in Friends...

Friendship is beautiful. Collegues - ugh, what a boring word... Aquiantances as well, shallow, hollow and empty...

Friends protect, carry and share everything with one another. Friends think the best of everything. Friendship is like stocks that just grow in value in time. I am rich - I have many close friends...

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Prov 18:24

And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself.
1 Sam 18:3

And Saul’s son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God.
1 Sam 23:16

I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.
2 Sam 1:26

Jesus, thank you that I have the privilegde to invest in friends and have friends that love me...

Poem in Spring Sunshine

My red motor cycle is parked so I can see and admire its beauty (Harley Davidson 1200 cc Sportster 2002). I'm sitting in the spring sunshine, cold April wind, coffee in hand... Reading an old classic by one of my favorite authors; Kenneth E Hagin... Suddenly this poem bubbles out of my spirit... It's been there for a little more than a week now, have to write it down...

The Broken Violin

That you would want to play on the broken violin?!
You were looking for a new instrument and found me when you were about to use the rest room behind the music store...
The violin with cracks, scratches and only one string...
The old violin that was already in the trash, ready to go up in flames, behind the workshop and music store...
The violin no one wanted to play on - rejected, refused, exhausted...
You saw me, your eyes were drawn to me when you passed by. Your yes saw something else than trash...
You knew how you could use me, and not what I was just then...
You picked me up, gently stroked the old wood...
You held me between your cheek and neck, like you used to, and tuned the only string...
You started to play on my only string with your bow, laughing and chuckling...
Your skilled hands lured frail, beautiful tones out...
The tones were like flickering flames, almost about to die, but you knew exactly how to handle me, and suddenly you and I were in a higher atmosphere...
You closed your eyes and played, stomping your foot to the beat and enjoyed...
You stood there playing, behind the workshop, the store and the pile of rubbish...
I, who was supposed to be ashes had become your treasure.
You never wanted to stop playing and I was in your loving hands - what an indescribable joy
Master, the Great Artist, the Musicians of Musicians; the Living Merciful God took me in his own hands...
My tears flow like tones and music, yes like salty trickles out of the fiddle body...
Tones of deep and bleeding gratitude to you and all the world!
That you would play on the broken violin?!

Thank you dear Master! Thank you beloved Jesus! Please... Play again! Just once more... And again... If you want to, that is...

See ya!

This Sunday we Celebrate the Victory in SOS Church!

Zarina hit her ear 20 years ago, lost her hearing and had to use a hearing aid. Friday night she handed over the hearing aid and said; "Here is my hearing aid, I don't need it anymore."

Amos, 4 years old, had only been able to drag himself across the floor to transport himself, but after healing prayer his mom sat him down on the ground and he began taking his first staggering steps.

Ramsha, 11 years old, had been carried her whole life. Last night she was completely healed and started to walk. Her feet had never walked before.

Samuel had cancer tumors, the size of an egg on his neck. Everything started six years ago when he had a hard time eating due to the pain. Now the tumors are all gone! His uncle, that came with him to the festival, is so thankful and says; "Thank you for coming to Sialkot!"

When Asmatari was asked to read the Bible after healing prayer she could see the words again. Four years ago she had an eye disease that severly damaged her sight. When Johannes prayed a healing prayer she was healed immidiately and she is crying tears of joy as she testifies from stage.

Seven months ago, Shenevis, 18 years old, had a brain tumor. Due to this he couldn't see well, he lost his sight entirely and could only distinguish people by their voices. He couldn't lift his arm even to drink a glas of water, but now he received his miracle! When we test him he can see totally clear! Jesus has healed him!

Thank you thank you Jesus!

See ya!

Remind Yourself of what We Do!

For all people to all nations, the Book of Acts in Stockholm and to the ends of the earth.

We humbly pray for the following during 2011;

1) To baptize 70 new saved in Stockholm on their own faith and confession!

2) To expand from 25 to 40 house churches in Stockholm!

3) To carry out 4 festivals in Pakistan and see 50,000 people in follow up classes before the year is over!

4) To plant at least 20 new churches in SOS India!

5) To find larger facilities downtown Stockholm!

Thank you God for your faithfulness, goodness, power and joy...

See ya!

Reflections in Stockholm

Sitting in my kitchen in Tullinge again... Reading the Metro paper on Maria's iPad, updating myself on the last week's news since I couldn't get online as much in Pakistan...

- Our government is fulfilling more of their promises to lower taxes (sales tax at restaurants and retirement taxes) and our unemployment numbers are doing down towards 5% - hallelujah, our Sweden is doing better!
- The commotion in the Arab world continues, nation after nation... Violent demonstrations in Yemen right now with many casualties. The just recent resigned president of Egypt is in custody during investigation about corruption etc.
- Top meeting in Qatar, reports from Minsk, Belarus about the bombings, the nuclear disaster in Japan etc...

Yes, our world is bleeding, the signs of the Bible are so clear and the SOS-signals reach us from North Africa, the Middle East and the thousands of people groups of Asia! We must preach the gospel about forgiveness, Holy Spirit and restoration through Jesus' death and resurrection with greater passion than ever; both in Stockholm and to the ends of the earth!

Great to be home again and recharge for new assignments... Already longing for our celebration at SOS Church Stockholm on Sunday when we'll celebrate the victories in Pakistan together and baptize newly saved Stockholmers again!

SOS' heroes of the week;

Kennet Thorsland with family...

Peter Almqvist...

Ps. Peter Almqvist and Kennet Thorsland are the heroes of the week. Without their efforts we had never been able to preach to more than 110,000 people and pray with more than 17,000 people to salvation in Sialkot in three days! Thank you so much faithful coworkers!!

See ya!

We are Happy!

I had the honor of speaking to around 600 religious leaders here in the Sialkot region at lunchtime today at a large hotel here in town. Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians. Mullahs, muftis, gurus and priests (even if 90% probably were Muslims). We had invited everyone to an all-religious peace conference for brotherhood and building bridges. Bulls eye! It turned out sooo well! Can't really describe it in a blog... God gave SOS full favor and I left the stage to applause and received spontaneous hugs and dabs on my cheeks from several Mullahs and Imams... I spoke on the gospel of Matthew chapter 18:1-5 and Col 1:20, about receiving the Kingdom of God like a child and peace created by Jesus' blood on the cross! I spoke directly from my heart, wasn't formal at all, laughed and cried after another... The Holy Spirit was there... Thank you Jesus! All honor to the One who is the Prince of Peace!

Our security personel counted 31,000 people at the festival tonight here in Pakistani Sialkot! They counted the crowd when we started praying for the sick tonight... These figures are on the low side since people continued to come to the festival ground until we said; "good bye and see you tomorrow" ;). There could as well been 40,000 tonight :)! SOS would rather cut the numbers a little lower since what God gave us tonight is huge and will keep us "chirping" for a long time... We prayed with a litte more than 4,500 precious people to salvation. We know this since we handed out our own follow up material, unfortunately we lacked some counselors tonight though so we probably just filled out half the amount of decision cards... Positive problems, but it still hurts...

Growths dissapeared during miracle prayer tonight and kids that had never been able to walk before walked and ran on the platform - it was sooo beautiful! It is the most beautiful thing I know when Jesus performs miracles!

What will the Spirit of God do tomorrow?! I can hardly sleep, I'm so excited and filled with anticipation! Will it be Christmas for SOS when it comes to our festivals? Will Jesus kiss us another time?! "The one who lives will see" as Cornelis Vreeswijk, a well known Swedish singer, sings ;). We are just sooo happy tonight...

Pray for us!

See ya!

First Festival Night!

“Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
Romans 10:11

This is the scrpiture, from the Apostle Paul to the Romans, that we've been standing on these last couple of days here in Sialkot, Pakistan... The truck, loaded with our platform, sound and light broke down on its way here from Karachi and we got it through the tolls at 3am last night... Our practical crew haven't slept in over 40 hours now, they worked all night, all day and had 45% of SOS portable festival equipment ready for the opening meeting tonight! What heroes! We went through with the first festival meeting in raw, aggressive faith and with alot of stubbornness tonight ;)...

Our first festival meeting drew a crowd of about 15,000 people (figures very reductive)... A good start :). About 3,500 responded on a very clear salvation invitation and about 90% came to Jesus for the first time - hallelujah! Demon possessed were dragged out during miracle prayer and many shouted out their testimonies of how Jesus had healed them from the platform! Jesus healed many eyes and ears! A little boy, 1.5 years old had from birth had a large tumor in his groin, right beside his scrotum. He was carried up on stage and his mom and dad pulled down his pants, while screaming and crying, and held up their son over their heads for everyone to see - the tumor was gone :)! Everyone cheered and rejoiced!!! Sometimes it's a little wild when Jesus performs miracles!

We are tired and happy in the middle of the battle! Pray for us!

See ya!

Second Day on Holy Ground

I was postively surprised here in Sialkot yesterday... A local business man in the contracting business dressed me up, top to toe, and his sweet wife and grown up daughters helped picking out the outfits. We went through shop after shop in the most expensive shopping district and I was blessed with three nice shirts (two traditional, local style), a pair of shoes and two pair of jeans! I'm used to always paying on our missions trips, but it seems like the world is changing :)! Thank you Jesus!

The Jamia Mosque in Sialkot...

Our team gathering yesterday was sooo relaxed, warm and special. We read the Bible, prayed and remained in intimate worship for a long time - Jesus was so close... We had coffee and ice cream in the pool room (our private conference room) here at Hotel One. We sat talking, making jokes and shared old mission stories, many good and heartfelt laughs. I love the family-like fellowship we have in SOS. We have really become a family...

I'm reading Kenneth Hagin's book; How You Can Be Lead By The Spirit Of God, probabaly the 10th time in my life... I know every story by heart, but it still strengthens me just as much...

I met my two interpretors this afternoon before our pastoral seminar. Taught three sessions for about 600 leaders at the conference for the cooperating churches of the city...

My prayer for this afternoon was; Lord Jesus, help me serve faithfully and succeed to wash the feet of these leaders!

See ya!

Sialkot

After a very long trip I'm finally in my hotel room in Sialkot, North Eastern Pakistan... Have eaten breakfast, gonna take a shower and try to catch some sleep... Have to head out to buy some shirts and a pair of shoes this afternoon before our teamgathering after dinner here at the hotel tonight... I'm enjoying myself. "Sniffing in" the city ;). Trying to get to know the people's sense of humor, laughing with as many I can... Sometimes everyone laughs, sometimes no one laughs, all cultures are different. Humor and love are keys to people's hearts...

Sialkot old city...

Received an encouraging text message from dad Reinhard Bonnke when I got off the plane from Doha to Lahore, oh, it meant so much to me, he is praying for me and our festival here in Pakistan... I sat, tears in my eyes and just felt sooo happy!

We have a pastoral seminary tomorrow with about 600 pastors and the festival starts on Friday! Pray for us!

See ya!

On My Way to the Indian Subcontinent

Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and India have a population of about 1.5 billion people and maybe more than 2000 unreached people groups... Tomorrow I fly from Stockholm via Munich and Doha to Lahore in Pakistan...

I'm flying, soul in hand, and with a trembling and anticipating heart... What will Jesus' Spirit do?! It's been a battle, but now I only feel the wing beats of the angels in my kitchen... The festival in the Sialkot, a city of about half a million people, starts on Friday April 8th. Sialkot is situated right by the river Chenab, by massive mountains in the north-eastern parts of the country and right by the border to the India and the much disputed Kashmir province... Cricket is huge in all of Pakistan and the local 'Sialkot Stallions' are very popular, I've heard... I'll soon wake up to the sound of minarets, temple clocks and bargain with richa drivers... Pakistan, I'm praying for you today...

I pray for President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Sayed Yousuf Raza Gilani. I pray for the the 184 million in the nation - Sunni and Shia Muslims, Hindus and Christians... I pray for the Punjabis, the Pastuns, the Sindhis, the Mujajirs and the Balochiers... The street cleaners, the shoe-menders, the sales men in the tight basars, rich business men in Landcruisers, the farmers, soldiers and the dance girls in Heera Mandi, the prostitution qarters in Lahore - you are all on my mind today... I pray for the capital Islamabad, for the tender and frail democracy, lately shaken by the murders of brave and outspoken ministers... I pray for all those who are still homeless after the flooding... I wish peace, mutual respect and love between all of Pakistan's different religious groups. I pray for peace to work and continue to be able to export their beautiful textiles to the world and that the schools would function so all childern learn to read and write... I pray for peace, peace in heart and mind and miracle power in the name of Jesus!

I love you Pakistan! I am on my way to you!

See ya!
