Travel to Israel and your Bible becomes new and alive!

I am no palm leaf waving romantic when it comes to Israel and the Jewish people. On the contrary, I am a realist in the sense that history so clearly has proven the fact for us all that the Jews need their own country to feel secure and to prosper. Several times throughout history other peoples and the demon called ”antisemitism” tried to extinguish God's people, and yet as through a miracle the small nation Israel is born in 1948. Hallelujah! The Jews regained some of the land that historically has been theirs! Today Israel is alive – big time!

This will be the seventh consecutive year that I go with Duveskogs Reseservice to Israel, both as guide and preacher. The trip is from Oct 29th – Nov 11th. Counting my honeymoon with Maria and the prayer trip with my SOS leaders in 2002, this will be my ninth visit to land of the Bible. I have yet only scraped the surface of Israel... There is so much to explore, to learn but most of all to experience in Israel!

My daughter Alicia in Sachne National Park, at the foot of Mount Gilboa...

Here follows 10 reasons for you to come along to Israel this fall... ;)

1) It is simply the land of the Bible. Every page in the Bible begins to move, jump out and call your name! Get to know the Bible in its geographical setting.

2) Jesus was a Jew and salvation comes from the Jews. Suddenly, being a Christian, you understand your Jewish roots. (John 4:22, Rom 11:18)

3) Israel is the meeting point for three of the world religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. You will come home with a better understanding of the conflict in the Middle East, the entire world political scene and the tension that exists between Christians and Muslims on every continent...

4) It is a fantastic combination of both education and vacation. You relax while you learn new stuff.

5) Middle East culture and western influences in a perfect mix. The modern urban multiethnical Israel is a school for the next generation, of the global culture found in Mega cities.

6) As a Christian you will understand ”the End Times, the unreached peoples, and the return of Jesus”. (Matt 24:14)

7) You get friends for life. Different generations, nationalities and both blue and white collar, all join in on the same trip to study, explore, have vacation and lots of fun.

8) Israel is perfect for evangelisation. Invite your seeker friend, relative or neighbor and together visit the historical Calvary, the Garden Tomb, Mount Olive, and the Upper Room. ;)

9) The modern Israel and the Jews need your warm hearted support in a cold, cynical world, full of hatred, murder, and evil.

10) The Mediterranean Sea, snorkeling in the Red Sea, floating in the Dead Sea and baptism in the Jordan River, the food, sunset in the desert, shopping and finally a tan!

Hey you... Come on and tag along!? Sign up for the trip here...

See you in Jerusalem!

Book of Acts Pulse

The Amritzer's yard is full of picnic baskets, blankets, grills, children and some dogs... SOS Church is gathered for a Bar-B-Q party... Roughly 80 people roamed through the house and yard during the course of the evening... Food & fellowship to the music and rhythm of the Gypsy Kings, streaming out from the loudspeakers and the summer party feel is at its best... The kids run around in wild games and parents, singles, middle aged, all of different nationalities laugh and talk. Many have come to join our fellowship for the first time. Bashar from Irak, Terry from Great Britain, Finnish Swedes on vacation in Stockholm, all arrived through an invitation on Facebook, etc... Newly saved, seekers, Muslims, and self proclaimed atheists in a wonderful blend. We shout hooray for the newly weds Linda and Thomas Axelsson, who were married last Friday and my daughter Alicia (10 years) brought them a bouquet of summer flowers... We are happy for Emma and Stefan who are getting married on Friday as well as for one more that has decided to be baptized...

Maryam gets baptized...

We read the Bible together in both Swedish and English about the fellowship of the first church. I then read a poem that newly saved Maryam wrote to God and then I baptize her (Maryam has only been saved for 3 weeks and is already writing poems to God!) In the sunset we share the Lord's communion in seven groups spread out across the yard and then we pray for each other – the presence of the Spirit is dense and His favor is tangible, it fills all and all... Bashar (with a Catholic background) decides to be baptized as an adult the next time we meet and another person finds the faith of their youth...

Communion...

Many remain around the grills in the yard till past 11 pm, even though many have work the following day... Summer vacation can still be felt in both body and soul... Johannes, are you happy? That is just the beginning, my friend. I am thrilled! The summer of 09 is spelled harmony, new courage, and new work joy. The summer of 09 will always be the summer when we barley awake and stumbling gave birth to a new church in Stockholm. A church for all nations. The early church and the pulse from the Book of Acts. True family fellowship and quality of life... Thank you Jesus!

Jackson – Welcome to the Family!

My Alicia and Jackson...

We are off today, eating cake and celebrating as a family. We are now seven at Skogshemsvägen 2 in Tullinge! Maria's younger sister Anna and my favorite brother-in-law Jonatan just had a baby boy that they named Jackson! I guess it is a combination of a tribute to the recently passed away ”King of Pop” - Michael Jackson and simply an extension of the shorter Jack... Not sure really but it sure is fun and we need to get used to it cause he will remain and most likely outlive most of us! We thank God for you, Jackson! Welcome to the family!! Today we are listening to the Gypsy Kings and playing Austrian cards in the kitchen... It is overcast today and I will remain indoors most of the day. Perhaps sleep some more and then watch a good movie. Have not had a full day off in two weeks and I am SO enjoying time with the fam, the kids and the scent of a newborn!

Tomorrow SOS Church will gather at our place in Tullinge for the coolest and best bar-b-q, garden and pool party this summer has seen!! Everyone that wants to come is welcome! We will eat good food, baptize in the pool, and then celebrate communion together – the early church right here in Stockholm – Fellowship as in the Book of Acts is emerging... Bring your meat and keep an ear open for the music as you get off the commuter train at Tullinge Station!

6 Million Dollars as a Bonus, Rediculous...

The other day I read in a Swedish newspaper that the Swedes favorite soccer player, Zlatan Ibrahimovic would receive a little bonus of 6 million dollars when he started playing for Barcelona... Ok, fun for him, but it's rediculous in comparison to serving Jesus... To follow, love and preach Jesus is bonus everyday from heaven in the form of answer to prayer, signs and wonders... My bonus cannot be valued in dollars and cents. Sorry to say it so raw and straight forward, but Zlatan's bonus seems side-splitting after another miracle night at Signs & Wonders Church in Velingrad, Bulgaria... God is kissing us! Success is all the little moments with Jesus, Maria and the kids and dear friends... Success is spelled SATISFACTION OF THE SPIRIT... Here are some pics from the finishing service tonight...

27 people were saved tonight!! We have prayed with 124 people to salvation all in all this festival!!!

Aeirika was healed in her legs and back. She had been in pain for many years, but tonight she threw the stick and could walk good without it!!!

Sooo happy for her miracle...

Itsak was healed in his legs. He had been walking with a limp a long time and although he had surgery for this, he had not gotten any better. Tonight Jesus healed him and he's walking just fine!

Walter and I will meet early tomorrow morning in a park and work out belly and back and then read the Bible together before I fly home to Stockholm and my family again. Love the life as a pioneer missionary, pastor, church planter and festival evangelist. Thank you Jesus!

Alot of people are applying to MCM Ministry School now! Welcome you too! We are longing for you! Your adventure could start in the beginning of September!

See ya!

Back in Bulgaria!

I am back in Bulgaria again and preached for an almost full Kino (theater in central Velingrad) tonight... It was a great night, 38 people gave their lives to Jesus and about 20 were baptized in the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues!!! Thank you Jesus!

38 people prayed a salvation prayer tonight!!!

So many started speaking in tongues!

Now I am gonna play cards with Walter and my little sister Katarina that is a missionary here at the base.

Katarina Santos, Emma Gustafsson, me and Maria From outside the team house...

Rejoice with me, our family is growing again! This time it's Maria's little sister and husband that had a little baby boy. Since they are staying in our basement there will be lots of baby cry, diapers and formula again... That was a long time ago...

See ya!

Summer Wedding in Southern Sweden and Worship in the Sunset...

I love being a pastor... It's so much easier to do pastoral work than evangelical... Weddings, funerals, baptisms, counseling and discipling isn't half as exhausting as when you give it all as a festival evangelist. As an evangelist you empty yourself totally and preach as if it was the last time at every meeting and every place... About 8-10 sweaty meetings every week. Spiritual warfare, fasting, travel, fighting with jetlag, praying for the sick and casting out demons for several hours sometimes... Don't get me wrong - I love the the craftmanship of the evangelist with festivals and conferences, but oh what a difference and rest it is in being a pastor once in a while as well...

Today I wed two of our pretty new saved and wonderful disciples, Linda and Thomas - nowadays the Axelsson family! Congratulations, long live the newly wed!

In the sunset on my way home in the car I was praying and a new poem/worship song was born in my spirit:

I gave my five breads and two fishes to You.
I broke my life in pieces and lived it for You.
I'm alone on the mountain as the sun sets.
Miracles are taking place in the valley and the goodness of Jesus fills me up.

Yes, only the goodness of Jesus - twelve baskets of goodness is left with me.

Ps; I just received a MMS of Anna and Jonatans little baby boy that was born at Huddinge Hospital tonight - hallelujah!

See ya!

Festival, B-B-Q and Old Christian Songs...

I landed in Sofia yesterday, Walter Zuniga (Field Director for Balkan) piscked me up at the airport... The first night at Velingrad Signs & Wonders Festival was fantastic! Everything from dance, drama, music and multimedia was sooo professional, thought through and performed with such passion. I am very impressed by the team down here!

The lady to the left was healed from a collapsed disc...

25 people were saved last night, 16 of these came to the Lord for the first time! We prayed for the sick for a long time and two women testified on stage that they had been healed from an internal bleeding a collapsed disc...

Afterwards we had great fellowship with the team, we ate grilled meat and sang everything from old Christian songs, to the Beatles and "There are no more soldiers..." A great night, I love the team here soo much! I'm flying home now to wed a couple and will come back on Saturday to preach the two last nights of the festival. In the meantime, my good friend, Michael Williams from the US will preach two nights, it will be great!

See ya!

Jesus, more Jesus and only Jesus!

I just landed in Stockholm again. I'm coming from Evangeliesenter's summer conference just outside of Halden in Norway... Flying to Bulgaria early tomorrow...

Lise Karlsen...

The Evangeliesenter people, mama Lise Karlsen and her team are some of the finest Jesus people I know in Scandinavia! To preach there last night at the opening service for the summer conference and to hold a Bible studie this morning was a big fat priviledge! They are awesome!

What worship! What stories (even called testimonies in church world) of miracles and transformed lives! Everything smells Jesus! Warmth, mercy, love and raw joy of salvation! I love mama Lise and her Jesus gang! Last night about 50 people ran to the front at a clear salvation invitation. And this morning about 30 were baptized in the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues - happiness! Jesus, more Jesus and only Jesus fills my entire being after being together with the people at Österbo one day! Thank you Jesus!

Peter Almqvist drove all the way from Stockholm to Halden (with his daughter Josefina) and back just to help me sell books and pass out SOS information... What a guy! Peter has devotedly worked with me for ten years now!

See ya!

Amazing SOS Workers!

I will try to sum up four days in Finland... Approx 80 saved, approx 40 baptized in the Spirit, and many healings, both physical and inner were reported! The Gospel always works! I never grow tired of teaching the classic faith teachings and to preach evangelisticly in the evenings... The morning Bible studies with the church here were such great moments, the titles were: Words Create; Vision Prayer; and Five Tips to Follow the Voice of the Spirit... Thank you Jesus!

I will now fly to Stockholm to hug my wife and kids for less than a day. On Monday I fly on to Norway - Österbo Stevnet and Evangeliesentret - great fun!

Jenny and Andreas...

Otherwise I rejoice over my strong co workers both in Sweden and Internationaly! Victory reports are coming in! Jenny and Andreas Jensen (SOS Church Kids Pastors) were responsible for all the children meetings at Smålandskonferensen, hosted by the mission organisation Sparkle of Faith, held at Ralingsåsgården just outside Aneby, in southern Sweden. What reports that now reach me! Wow - I am so proud of how well they present Jesus to the kids and what professional ambassadors they are for Mission SOS!

Anna and Pelle...

Anna and Pelle Svernedal have just taught at an international family camp at Bjärka Säby, together with Ylva Hamrén. So many thankful people get in touch and commend the Svernedals! Imagine that Anna is prayer leader and Pelle street evangelist at SOS Church and thay we will build a church together this fall in Stockholm! Maria and I are spoiled straight from heaven!

BTW: Samuel Strandberg, Field Director, Mission SOS Horn of Africa, is getting married to Gabby Redmond from Victory Christian Center in Youngstown Ohio!

Adventure with the Spirit

I have just held a Bible Study here in Finland and also had time to eat a chicken pasta... I taught a tidbit from the manuscript for my next book...

The title today was: Five Pieces of Advise to Better Follow the Holy Spirit.

1) Always listen to the "testimony of your heart"... Rom 8:2, 14-16, 1 John 5:10
The law of the Spirit of life and the Holy Spirit testifies with, or in our spirit.

2) Do not grieve the Holy Spirit... Eph 4:30
Do not make the Spirit sad, be particular about your purity.

3) The Holy Spirit's scrapbook. Num 12:6, Acts 16:9-10
God speaks through the language of pictures, visions, and dreams.

4) Listen to the voice of the Spirit and obey first and then think. Acts 8:29, 10:19-20

5) The Spirit is smarter than you are and wants to take you on new adventures and take care of you. Joh 10:3-5
Jesus is the good shepherd and you his sheep, you follow His voice.

Many are being saved, healed and baptized in the Spirit here... I teach in the morning hours and have classical Pentecostal revival meetings in the evenings... The Pentecostal Church in Seinäjoki and Pastor Martti are truely "Holy Spirit people". They have grown to double numbers in ten years from 600 to almost 1200 members, hallelujah! Pastor Martti and his team are genuine and great friends of mine; I feel so at home here...

Tomorrow I fly home for a breif touch down in Stockholm (the city of my dreams). On Monday I go to Halden, Norway for the Österbo Conference - great fun!

See ya!

Love for Finland just grows...

Preaching in Finland again... I've travelled pretty much in our neighboring country in the east the last five years... My love just grows... The Finish people are humble, simple and down to earth in a nice way...

I have an intense schedule here in Seinäjoki with Pastor Martti... Preaching seven times in four days and the prayer time usually lasts two hours nonstop... Everyone is so hungry... About 20 were saved last night, 10 were baptized in the Holy Spirit and several healed through words of knowledge - hallelujah! On Wednesday about 15 were saved... It's adding up... I never grow tired of the full gospel...

Finish sauna...

They are really taking care of me here, I'm staying at a 5 star hotel, eating like a king at fine restaurants. Well, my Finish hosts are certainly not chinchy, I'll say that. Thank you Jesus!

There will be more Finland if I get to choose..

Words Create!

In the eve of creation God spoke and created with His words. Before anything existed that we touch, there was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. (Joh 1:1)

“By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” (Heb 11:3)

What we confess and speak out about our selves, others, and the future is more important than what we at times want to admit... We are created in the image of God and to be like Him and therefore we need to think about and consider what we say...

“From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Prov 18:20-21)

Someone that I loved, cherished, and adored was changed inside through my own words. An angel becomes a devil as I continuously gossip, slander and speak behind their back. There is a potential risk that my negative words will destroy the life of others as well as my own. Negative words can demonize and finally they become like voodoo or witchcraft. At times I contemplate when I meet a person that used to be a close friend but now suddenly is shut, blocked, and suspicious – who has bewitched you? Words can bewitch, pull down or build up, bless or curse. How do you use your words?

“Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.” (James 3:5b)

The tongue is like the rudder of a large ship. The tongue can be full of medicine and healing or inject deadly venom.

Confess over yourself: I am blessed, I will succeed, and I always have prosperity. I am positive and always lift others in my sphere. I speak faith and encourage. I rule this day. Jesus won the victory and therefore I also conquer. The victory of Jesus is my victory! The future belongs to me!

Jesus never commanded us to speak about and describe the mountain, but to speak to the mountain! (Mark 11:23)

Well... that is a short exert from my Bible studies here in Seinäjoki, Finland.

See Ya!

Church Renovation, Church Culture, and Summer Conferences...

My wife Maria and I began this day together with Martina with coffee, Bible reading and deep conversation... We read three chapters in the Gospel of Luke (17-19) together and in the middle of chapter 19 we began to pray led by the Spirit and could not stop for a long time... I am trying to get some administration work done together with my fantastic secretary Martina Almqvist today... Martina and I have worked together for 12 years and working is like a dance... We know each other and work well together... :)

Will grab something to eat soon with my family and the Almqvists... Besides that I will try to have time to do some laundry, repack (Maria helps me...) and then work at our premises tonight... Our house church will be there - great fun! A Swedish mission base and a vibrant Jesus center is taking form this summer downtown Stockholm... Thank you Holy Spirit!

Julia baptizing in our pool...

Julia Willkander baptized a girl in our pool this past weekend and later this week Daniel Elvelyck will do the same - hallelujah! A SOS people, a Jesus people, the early church in downtown is taking form right now... The pulse of the Book of Acts, so to say... Baptism in the pool, prayer in the patio furniture, house churches and cook outs... A sound lifestyle is summed up: strong inner life, discipleship training and friends/work out... One vision, not eight. One organisation, not four different. An Apostolic church, ie not ten newsletters but one, not four seperate finance departments but one... A tight family fellowship yet at the same time focused evangelistic work - both street and friendship evangelization as well as large festivals, Bible Colleges and mission bases. Same way of thinking. Uniform. Focused. Every year each disciple wins and trains a new disciple and attends at least one festival or mission trip! The missionaries on the field live and work just like the people at home, with the exception that here at home we have to try and combine the "SOS life" with a regular jobb to pay the bills... Otherwise there is no differnce.

Baptism at out base in Harar, Ethiopia...

Tomorrow I will fly out to Finland to preach in the icehockey arena in Seinäjoki to thousands of miracle hungry people! I can't wait! I love my life. This summer is spelled harmony, healing, and new faith for the future!

PS. The Swedish favor continues with unchanged power! Kind and considerate textmessages from people that are praying for us, letters/emails with honest apologies for slander and rotten attitudes. The wind has truely turned. New inviations and open doors! We would have continues anyway, but it sure is more fun with a new time of favor and gratitude for all that we do in Mission SOS!

What a Day in Stockholm!

Yesterday, sunday was so good! Picked up Wivi-Ann (Leader for SOS East Africa) in Märsta and drove down to Tullinge... She spent the day with us... So great to hear that they still ask for "dad" (they mean me - amazing...) in about 100 SOS churches in Kenya, Uganda, Kongo and Rwanda after more than ten years of absence... I was moved to tears over their longing and love and I think I must visit the churches we were a part of initiating 1995-98 when I travelled in these regions... It was so wonderful to listen to Wivi-Anne's victory reports after all this time...

Later that morning my new Iraqi friend, Bashar came to visit... Bashar is a Catholic seeker that is longing for the life of the Spirit and wants to get involved in SOS Church Stockholm... Fun! We read the Bible together and prayed... Bashar brought Arabic pastries and chocolate - exciting new taste experiences!

Julia and Samuel Willkander stopped by for a cup of coffee - soon we'll be close neighbors! The Willkander family will move into a town house about 600 feet from us at the end of July, beginning of August - we are longing...

Kurt and Anette Pettersson with family came by in the afternoon for a cook out in our yard - a lot of meat and many great laughs! My Persian friend Omid Dadary came as well and we ended up sitting by the camp fire in the corner of our yard, philosophizing, laughing and just hanging out until long after midnight... Thank you God for such a great friend! Omid is growing strongly in his faith and is a light for Jesus wherever he goes!

Omid Dadary...

What a day! Stockholm! SOS Church! Thank you God for all our friends!

Scandinavian Tour...

I am visiting Norway, Sweden and Denmark during some very intense days this week. It is great to meet with hungry Christians from all over Scandinavia that are on vacation! Trailers, tents, relaxed people in their absolutely best vacation humor...

Hedmarktoppen, Norway, was great as always! I preached three times at the Norwegian Pentecostal prayer conference. Maria Jensen and Linnea Hagenfors met up and stood at the merchandise table. Linnea also sang and rocked when she charmed the audience from the stage!

Unfortunately I missed my plane from Oslo to Stockholm due to road work and detours so I had to rent a fast Ford Focus at AVIS and with it I almost flew to Aneby, Sweden (not quite as fast as a SAS plane but almost ;)). I made it on time to the Sparkle of Faith's Summer Conference at Ralingsåsgården. It was a ten year anniversary for me. This was the tenth consecutive year that I have preached there and it is always a highlight of the summer! Curt Johansson, Göran Duveskog and David Duveskog never stop to impress... It is not hard to explode when you preach in the atmosphere that the Sparkle of Faith Mission creates. Roughly 20 people responded to the altar call and I prayed for the sick for a long time...

I slept at my mom's place and had breakfast with my sister and her kids and now I have made my way to Stockholm through a rainy Sweden for a quick visit and stopover in my home town (perhaps I will have enough time to stop by our premises and join the gang working their tonight ;)). Early tomorrow morning I will fly to Copenhagen to preach at Christian Hedegaard's Alternative Summer Conference. I am looking forward to this! It is a totally new setting for me and I so appreciate new opportunities to get to know people!

PS. Join me in my happiness, the Swedish favor is still going strong. It is intoxicating and chocking to meet this new good will out in the country. Last night more people came and asked for forgiveness because of their bad attitudes through the years and I was invited to yet another large church in Sweden to come and preach this fall!

Edefors Church...

I'm having a stop over in Stockholm today, on my way to Hamar, Norway and Hedmarktoppen Summer Conference... Preaching three times there tomorrow... I'm looking forward to this very much - I love the Norwegian Pentecostals!

Yesterday I preached in Priest Lennart Åström's church, Edefors Church (Harads, Northern Sweden)... Lennart loves the Holy Spirit! So wonderful people! One lady from Burundi was baptized in the Holy Spirit as she was kneeling down at the altar rail during prayer time. She was so happy when the speaking in tongues loosened and came across her lips... Even a pretty rough festival evangelist and missionary like me can become a little poetic in the State Church setting ;). I had the priviledge to lead the entire church in the "Apostolic Confession" after my message. It is good!

Edefors Church...

I'll preach on "Power" at the Scandinavian summer conferences this year! Power Christianity! People's lives are not changed through super relevant, hip and cool preaching, but through the power of the Holy Spirit! The power of the cross and the gospel! The power of the blood and the Holy Spirit!

Planning Bear Hunt!

We are having great services here in the North! A lot of people and "revival momentum" as we say in church... Real and powerful baptisms in the Holy Spirit today! I beleive there will be more over Northern Sweden - I'm praying for Northern Sweden now...

Of course we are planning hunting as well... Bear and Moose hunt... We're thinking of having "Christian Hunting Camps" with exchange hunt in the US... Hunting daytime and Bible studies, prayer and worship at night...

Tomorrow I'm preaching at the State Church in Harads! It will be great fun! Really looking forward to that...

Three Baptized in Lule River!

Midnight sun is very good when you're pioneer missionary in Northern Sweden! Three precious Norrlanders prayed a salvation prayer with me at the end of the first service in the Salem chapel in Bodträskfors last night... After a good teaching on baptism in water, about midnight we went down to the river and baptized. One of the guys that was saved was baptized directly... The Book of Acts in a cold Northern river - hallelujah!

Lule river...

Right now I'm sitting at the Adeström family kitchen table (Per Adeström: bear hunter, preacher and biker...) eating breakfast surrounded by an entire dog kennel... I'm soon gonna play some beach volley ball with some of the kids from the neighborhood - fun! Activities to get to know seekers and good fitness training! Life is sooo good! Swedish summer at its best!
